MLP Theory: King Sombra Dark Magic. · 8:00pm Oct 20th, 2016
Hey everyone and welcome. So I started to think again over My Little Pony and well after watching season 3 opening and some of Harry Potter. I started to think more about Equestria Dark Magic. Because just like in Harry Potter in My Little Pony there's Light Magic and Dark Magic, which is shown at season 3 with Twilight using a Dark Magic spell to open the way to where The Crystal Heart is hidden.
But to understand this theory a bit more, I'm going to go to Princess Luna or as she was known at the time Nightmare Moon. Because we know I bit more about Nightmare Moon than King Sombra I think that just because everyone thinks Luna is the greatest character of all time. But when Luna jealous took a hold of her she became Nightmare Moon and wanted to put the world in darkness forever.
I think when she entered this feeling of being overshadowed and wanting to just feel wanted by the ponies like how her older sister, she turned to Dark Magic to find a way to make her better than Celestia, stronger than Celestia. Because of the rage and jealous Luna had towards her sister, it made the Dark Magic what she was looking into to take over her mind and soul, causing her to undergo Nightmare Moon.
Then she got trapped in the Moon for a thousand years, to get just come back and try again. Because she was trapped in the Moon for over a thousand years I like to think that it weaken her Dark Magic just enough to when The Elements of Harmony hit her again, turn her back into Princess Luna besides sending her back to the Moon like it did the first time.
Now, what about King Sombra, where does he fit in all of this? You may be asking hopefully in your heads and not out loud. Not the point, anyway Kind Sombra was just a Unicorn stallion who study under somepony powerful and wouldn't let him off track. Maybe because the teacher had bigger plans for Sombra, but Celestia did to the same thing, twice once to Sunset Shimmer and again to Twilight Sparkle. The only different is that Twilight trusted Celestia and waited and followed orders.
Now because of Season 3 it is shown that Celestia knows a lot about Dark Magic and we know that King Sombra came before Nightmare Moon and Discord. But when talking about Sombra, Celestia never tells who the two alicorns were who stopped him. We all just thought that it must have been Celestia and Luna. But that doesn't make too much sense because Sunset Shimmer must have went under Celestia teaching after Nightmare Moon got trapped in the Moon.
So what if Celestia and Luna didn't stop Sombra, but they parents did? Sombra could have been studying under Celestia father, The King while the two sisters were studying and learning with Sombra. Just like with Sunset and Luna, he must have gotten tired of his teacher not taking him to the next level of magic. That's when he decide he would do it himself and looked over and study Dark Magic.
Looking more into it, just like Luna his mind and soul was taken over by the magic and well. He took over the Crystal Empire, into the King and Queen when and stopped him, after he hid the Heart. Now I wondering how did Sombra lived, when he came back he was only smoke with a face. So what if like in Harry Potter, Sombra made whatever good left in his soul go to another object.
Now King Sombra ruled over the Crystal Ponies, having them in slaved and work to mine Crystal that power up his Dark Magic so he could be strong enough to take down The King and Queen. But the main problem is that if Sombra wanted to take whatever good left in his soul to another object he must first kill other. Plus what object would he hide his soul in.
First, the object. I started to think that it was the Crystal Heart, the only reason we heard why he hide the Heart was that it was the only thing able to stop him. He hid well, but when he came back, he was sent on getting the Heart back, because that what kept him still alive. Ever wonder why Sombra was just smoke while the Ponies was just fine? I think this is why, he put a bit of his soul into the Heart after he killed somepony and then hid it, because he knew that The King and Queen was coming soon.
But that raises the question on, who did Sombra kill? Ever wonder why the Crystal Ponies never fought back? I know that Sombra is powerful, but let just say the Crystal Empire is just as big as Canterlot with just as many ponies. Sombra was outnumbered. He might have been more powerful than them, but the numbers don't lie. One vs one thousand. The one thousand is going to win, he would have gotten tired.
So what if Sombra killed a Crystal Pony that didn't listen to him, which made all the others fear him more and went to work so they wouldn't share that same faith. After killing that pony his soul went into whatever was the closest and it happen to be The Crystal Heart, causing him to hide it more. Then Luna after hearing Sombra tale about the Dark Magic and not about his misdeed, study it and thinks she's stronger than Sombra was. And we all know how that when to.
Before anyone ask, yes the piece of his soul is destroyed. Not because of season six, whatever the baby name is. No it was because of Spike and Candace, because when the two of them got the Heart, Sombra smoke just went away with little reason on why. But it was because The Heart was all that was left of King Sombra and he needed the part of his soul he left in The Heart back to become King Sombra once again.
But it just a theory. A theory I thought of in five minutes while eating breakfast. Oh and do check out The Deadly Three, it just sitting there all along with no body to read it. Anyway, see you all later. Into then have yourself a fantastic day or lovey night and take care.
