Joshua
Nature: Bashful
Characteristic: Very finicky
Gender: Male
Personality/Story:
A reserved and quiet fellow who doesn't really like having attention brought towards him. Though powerful, yes, he doesn't really see himself as such and tends to stick in the background to let his teammates like Mash or Zachary do their thing. Despite being shy most of the time, he becomes aggravated and annoyed whenever something is out of place. He makes it a personal mission to organize things the way he likes them before someone comes back and ruins it all. He is most comfortable around Azalea due to their similar personalities.
Joshua lived in New Bark Town with his friends Sean (Totodile) and Lyra (Chikorita) until one day when Sean began acting very strange. After a quick visit to Mr. Pokemon requested by the resident Furret named Elm, Joshua encountered Sean once again who challenged him to a battle and revealed he had enough of his life and was off to challenge everyone he could to become stronger. This turn of events lead Joshua to chase after Sean and find out exactly why he felt the way he did. Of course, due to Joshua's bashful nature he was unable to do it alone and quickly found himself running from every Pokemon he encountered. Thankfully he made some friends along the way to help him with his shyness.

Axel
Nature: Lax
Characteristic: Sturdy body
Gender: Male
Personality/Story:
A lazy butt, plain and simple. Axel eats too much every day, lays around the ground most of the time trying to nap, and loves watching his friends do most of the work while he does the previously mentioned things. Due to eating so much thankfully healthy food, he can endure a lot of oncoming attacks and retaliate with ease. He is best friends with Azalea, despite his major type weakness, and spends the most time with her above his other teammates. This is probably because Axel is very approachable and friendly.
Joshua, Zachary and Mash were all sitting around a bonfire on Route 32 due to it becoming night sooner than they expected. They found a remote area Mash was familiar with where the chance of other Pokemon eating their food supply was slim. With this fact easing their minds, the trio drifted off to sleep... only to wake up the next morning and see that their entire food supply was gone. Next to their supply was a sleeping Wooper with a huge smile on his face and a bit of drool rolling down his mouth. Waking the Wooper up, he introduced himself as Axel and lazily asked if he could join them on their adventure. With an eye roll, they all agreed. None quite know what his story is yet.

Zachary
Nature: Jolly
Characteristic: Likes to run
Gender: Male
Personality/Story:
An autistic Pokemon Joshua found in a dark cave. Due to his autism, Zachary gets very excited very easily and is usually smiling about something he sees. This can often land him in danger as he is attracted by some the simplest of things in some very tricky areas. The type of autism is called Aspergers, which is thankfully a very light type of autism and doesn't disable him, per say, but does limit his understanding of others. He enjoys spending time with Mash despite the type disadvantage, most likely because both share similar views on the world.
Zachary was born into a family of hundreds of Zubat brothers and sisters. He was the only one with autism however, so he never had to worry about individuality. He and his Dunsparce friend, Billy Bob, explored the dark cave on a daily basis until they came across a lost Joshua. Zachary approached the shy Cyndaquil and asked him about his day. The conversation eventually lead to Zachary asking, or rather begging Joshua to join him in his quest. Eventually Joshua cracked and admitted to himself that company would be best in a quest such as his. Zachary said goodbye to Billy Bob, his family and other friends and set out with his new friend on the quest to find Sean.

Mash
Nature: Quirky
Characteristic: Impetuous and silly
Gender: Non-binary (female by sex)
Personality/Story:
A regular Flaaffy that doesn't consider themselves as a set gender. They are very silly and enjoy the company of others; especially those who share the same views of the world as them. Their silliness unfortunately translates into their rash behavior as they are prone to flying quickly into battle without a second thought. Many would see this as quirky of them, though Mash merely passes this off as an enjoyable pastime. They aren't usually angered but can become fairly upset if someone persists in calling them male or female even if asked not to.
Mash, originally named Madeline, was born into a rich Ampharos family in Violet City. However, their life was always difficult due to their inner conflicts of gender identity. Eventually they marked themselves as non-binary and came out with this info beaming with satisfaction. Their parents unfortunately disowned them once they discovered that their "daughter" no longer identified as female. This didn't put a single dent in Madeline's personality as they simply changed their name to Mash, after their favorite food of mashed potatoes, and set out to discover the world and greet others with a smile. This was around the time they met Joshua and Zachary and decided to join their quest.

Azalea
Nature: Timid
Gender: Female
Characteristic: Capable of taking hits
Personality/Story:
An heir to an ancient clan of dancing Grass-type Pokemon. She originally had a very snooty and uptight personality due to her lineage, but quickly developed a timid and shy personality after a failed rite of passage in Azalea Town. Though reserved and quiet most of the time, she does find her teammates enjoyable to be around and genuinely loves spending time with them, even if she never shows it on the outside. She sees Joshua and Axel as good friends and talk-buddies, but has no romantic interest in them. This is due to her being homosexual.
She was born into a long line of Bellossom dancers. Everyone in Azalea Town expected big things from her, considering she was named after the town, but during her first dancing rite she cracked under all the pressure and ran away from home. She eventually met up with Joshua's group during the night and reluctantly joined them. After refusing to help them numerous times during battle, Joshua of all Pokemon stepped up and had a talk with her about her recent past. After a little cry, Azalea came to terms with who she was meant to be and was determined to become a Bellossom dancer one day. Her timid personality stuck with her however.
