POKEMON SEPTEMBER UPDATE!!! (Part 2) · 9:38pm Sep 20th, 2016

A bomb was dropped today, so let's take a look and see the destruction!

NEW POKEMON!

Passimian

Type: Fighting
Class: Teamwork Pokemon
Ability: Receiver
Analysis:
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you the rugby monkey Pokemon that was announced all that time ago. More and more those Chinese leaks are seeming much more realistic as time goes on and we learn more about the upcoming games. How do we know it's a rugby monkey Pokemon? Its Pokedex entry on the Sun and Moon site officially states that Passimian stick together in groups of 20-30 and throw berries at their opponents to attack, sometimes passing these berries between themselves to get a better shot. Oh, and it's called PASSIMIAN, as in PASS the ball. That being said, I rather like its design! Certainly not what I was expecting, but of course what is to be expected when discovering new Pokemon? I think the berry helmet is a nice touch too. Passimian has a new ability called Receiver which takes the ability of a recently fainted ally, meaning Passimian can have LITERALLY ANY ABILITY. Make sure this thing doesn't have a Medicham next to him! Of the two monkeys revealed, this is my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, I love its concept and usefulness, but I just like the other one better.

Oranguru

Type: Normal/Psychic
Class: Sage Pokemon
Ability: Inner Focus/Telepathy
Analysis:
THIS is my favorite of the two monkeys, to be quite honest. I find its design and Pokedex leagues more interesting than Passimian's, and it has one of my favorite typings ever, being Normal/Psychic which until now was only on a weak Girafarig and a rare Meloetta. Being able to finally use this typing to my advantage makes me SUPER happy. You're definitely going on my team, good friend! Its Pokedex entry states that it gives medicine to injured Pokemon, just like an old sage living in the forest, and it can use various human-made objects including Poke Balls. Of course, this obviously isn't true in the game, but it's still pretty interesting. I should take this time to point out that Passimian is only available in Sun and Oranguru is only available in Moon, so if you like Passimian more but want Moon then you better have a friend off-hand to help you out with that. Oranguru can learn a new move called Instruct which makes an allied Pokemon use the same move it most recently used again. I can only imagine the chaos this Pokemon and Passimian will cause.

Lycanroc (Midday)

Type: Rock
Class: Wolf Pokemon
Ability: Keen Eye/Sand Rush
Analysis:
WOO! Lycanroc, baby! Never thought I'd see the day. But nevertheless, I've already talked about Lycanroc in the past so I won't repeat myself that much. However, I will say that of the two Lycanroc designs revealed, this is my least favorite. I know, I'm a sucker for Pokemon Moon, but I legitimately think the Pokemon Moon version exclusives look better than the Pokemon Sun ones! I still like Lycanroc's midday form; I don't love it, but I do like it. It has a new move called Accelerock (which sounds like a Pokemon in itself) which has a boosted priority. Having a Rock-type move with priority can RUIN your day if you're not careful!

Lycanroc (Midnight)

Type: Rock
Class: Wolf
Ability: Keen Eye/Vital Spirit
Analysis:
Ain't this guy the definition of "Edgy". What's this? Two Lycanroc on the same list? Well, my friend, that's because each Lycanroc is different from one-another, be it abilities or stats. This Lycanroc is definitely my favorite of the two simply because of its design, so he's definitely going on my team! Again, I've talked about Lycanroc in the past so I'll save you all the trouble, but unlike midday Lycanroc this form has no signature move. That being said, Counter seems to be a large part of midnight Lycanroc, so we can assume it might be highly defensive and offensive at the same time. Interesting thought, it be honest with you...

NEW GAMEPLAY!

Character Customization

We knew it was coming, but I don't think we knew it was going to be this elaborate. Not only do you have a wide, and I'm talking WIDE selection of new clothing choices to wear, but you can also change your hair color to anime-type colors, change your hair style in MANY different ways, wear different-colored contact lenses ranging from purple to red, and you can FINALLY TAKE OFF YOUR HAT! God bless GameFreak for listening to our woes and giving us the option of removing our fucking hat!

Pokemon Refresh

Replacing Pokemon Amie is Pokemon Refresh: basically a much more updated version of Pokemon Amie. You can feed your Pokemon, groom them, and even heal them if they're feeling ill. I wonder if the whole healing thing will affect Pokemon items since they're kind of important and stuff, but it might be fun; who knows? I know I enjoyed Pokemon Amie, so maybe this will be even better! Oh who am I kidding? I know this is going to be even better.

NEW Z-MOVES!

Catastropika

An exclusive Z-move for Pikachu. After doing the Carameldansen dance with your Pikachu, you then chuck your Pikachu into the air like you're throwing your wife off the balcony of your castle. Pikachu then starts doing a spindash while still mid-flight as you punch the air and send Pikachu raining down onto your opponent's Pokemon like some kind of Pikachu meteor.

Fucking sweet, bro.

Extreme Evoboost

An exclusive Z-move for Eevee. The cutscene for this move is like the cutscene for Sephiroth's Super Nova attack; it's really long. But is it worth it? Eevee jumps onto the ground and sees eight pairs of eyes looking right at it. They all reveal themselves as the eeveelutions and float up into the air like balls of light or whatever. They then shoots beams of light at Eevee, powering it up for some kind of super move. Things are getting extreme! I keep wondering what it's going to be and...!

...it's a status move.

I mean, it's a good status move and it does confirm that not all Z-moves are attack-based, but c'mon GameFreak; you put all that effort into showing us a cool animation with a badass build-up and you don't even make it an actual attacking move? What a complete disappointment.

And that's all for now, folks!

How did you like or dislike the new Pokemon Sun and Moon reveals? Now we have something to love again while we wait for November to finally show its slow-ass face. Goddammit, I hope these games get here soon...

Until then!

:pinkiegasp: THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!!

4219193
You are most welcome!

4219200 Now I'm EXTRA hyped for Pokemon: Sun and Moon!!!!:pinkiehappy:

Now I'm glad I already preordered Sun. I personally like day Lycanroc more. The monkeys are both cool (and make doublebattles crazier).
Also I find Passimian's german name hilarious: Quartermak

4219205
You and the rest of the world, buddy.

4219237
As an Ace Attorney fan I can say, that this is capcom-level of puns.

So basically, Instruct is Oranguru's version of Encore. Yeah, looks like we're in for a great big storm of chaos.:trollestia: I am SO glad character customization is back. And headgear is optional? Hell Yeah! And maybe they'll throw in a few retro styles, if you catch my drift. Pokemon Refresh sounds awesome. God I hope I'm driving before these games come out so I can get them.

4219304
It's kinda like Encore, only it works once. Actually, it's more like Parental Bond, Mega Kangaskhan's ability, where every move hits twice.

If we get special outfits, I have a feeling people will try to look either like Red, Gold, Crystal or a Team Skull grunt. Don't lie, you know that's gonna happen!

I preordered them for my sister and I, so EB Games will call me when the games come around.

I'm happy with eevee getting it's own z move but that basically just confirmed that there is no alola eevolution. A bit disappointing but since this just continues to make those leaks more and more true I can't wait to see that water arcanine. :pinkiehappy:

4219389
To be fair though, bud, giving an Alolan form to the eeveelutions would be like giving a Mega form to the eeveelutions; it just wasn't gonna happen. :applejackunsure: And I wouldn't get hype for Water-type Arcanine, but you never know.

4219394 You can't stop me from dreaming, and also if one eeveelution was going to get a mega it would be the normal evolution of eevee.

4219399
So... all of them? :rainbowhuh: Because all of them are the normal evolutions of Eevee.

4219401 As great as that would be but I met that when there's a normal type eeveeolution that evolved from Eevee that would be the only one to get a mega evolution.

You following this? Cause I have no idea what I said and I'm the one who wrote it.

4219428
Yeah, I getcha this time.
Though, I doubt there ever being a Normal-type eeveelution. Ever.

4219432 Anything is possible. :derpytongue2:

And for my last comment how to break the meta game.
Eevee Z move/ quaver dance/ dragon dance+ Instruct= Winning

4219446
Eevee can't learn Quiver Dance or Dragon Dance, silly!

But guess what I learned you can do? :rainbowkiss:

You know how Passimian takes the ability of a fainted ally? Well, what if we had five Passimians and a Medicham on a team? Medicham faints, passes Pure Power onto Passimian and the cycle continues. If you kill the Passimian with Pure Power, it'll just be transferred over to the next Passimian. If you kill the Passimian without Pure Power, you'll still have the Pure Power Passimian to deal with.

I just broke the game.

4219354 That's exactly what I'm doing! I did have mine preordered through Gamestop, but had to cancel.:ajsleepy: I'll just download it from the Eshop.
