The Fault in Our Cutie Marks: My Thoughts (Warning: Spoilers) · 1:21pm Sep 13th, 2016
Finally! a semi-substantial review!!
Well, this is a very mixed bag episode for me. Towards the beginning, when we were first introduced to Gabby, I honestly thought her voice was a bit, well, grating.
... ... ...
Okay, fine. Her voice was so grating that it made me want to take sandpaper to my testicles. Despite this, however, I did my best to enjoy her character, and the episode as a whole was sort of so-so for me. This is actually how I thought On Your Marks was going to go down, since it's exactly the sort of thing I wanted the CMC's to go through immediately after earning their marks: Seeing them get presented with a challenge that was just out of their understanding. The song was okay; it's not really the kind of thing I really like, plus which it doesn't feel like the song was timed very well. Typically, I find that songs in MLP are better when you tie it together with a reprise, but this really seems like a hurried rambling as I rush to get this out without typos.
Well, that's all for me! I'll see you next Monday (I promise) with another blog on Viva Las Pegasus (HYPE)
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. The good news is that I received word from my editor. The bad news is I have a little bit more to write before an update to New Beginnings comes out, and I can't exactly promise a date. Things will slow down after Homecoming at the end of this month, and I'll be back on schedule by then for the most part (Ha! schedules. Who uses schedules?).
