I felt like rambling about this but to me it feels like Starlight isn't really getting much of the attention she needs or deserves, especially from the show.
I get that people are getting tired of villains getting reformed left and right. (I am too, don't get me wrong.) And Starlight's backstory was.....a little more underwhelming than I'd like to admit. But after the season 6 premiere, I actually grew to like her a lot. Plus her and Spike make a pretty interesting team. Plus as much as I get tired of the redemption thing, I'm a sucker for giving people second chances and even a third because I'm just that nice.
But now the show isn't really doing much for her, Yeah the episode with Starlight and Trixie was good, but besides that, she's been pretty absent as of late and her other minor appearances in the other episodes didn't do much for her at all. Seriously, why couldn't they replace Snails with Starlight in that episode with Buckball, I feel like that would've been more fitting and some better dialogue would've been present.
Some people say she's like another Sunset and....I kinda see where they're coming from but I want to see what the show can do to make her more unique or something. Or at the very least have her make an appearance in EQG in some way.
If she's gonna be part of the mane 6...er...7. At least make her feel part of the team and give her some love. I mean come on, look at this face! How can you not be friends to this face?!
Maybe I might fit her into my story somehow. But that's a big maybe. Anyways, what do you guys think?
You could set her up as another love interest for Zero, maybe make it so that they both want to change the world but have different ways to do it. Just food for thought.

4198063 I actually do see Starlight as a love interest for Zero. But I'll probably focus more so on the two being good friends. But I like your idea.
4198098 I'm aware of the story and I am a little intrigued by it. But I just feel like having her as a secondary character just don't feel right. With Discord it's ok because he lives somewhere completely different and just drops by when he feels like it. With Starlight, she actually lives in the castle with Spike and Twilight, yet the majority of the time we don't see her. Where was she in 28 Pranks later, Where was she in Dungeons and Discord, she didn't go with the mane 6 on their trip and she wasn't in castle as far as we knew.
At least when Spike doesn't appear, they explain why. Like in "Look before you sleep." They said he was in Canterlot handling business. With Starlight, she's not around because.....reasons?
