Sit down, it's time you learned the orgin of my OC. · 5:25am Sep 12th, 2012
I get quite a few PMs asking how Neon Blaze got his name.
It's time for me to tell you all.
Yeah, this one guy stopped a large company from scamming millions. One. Person. Not the government, not a bunch of idiots with a petition, no. One smart guy who could hack. Did he go around saying he was the greatest? No. Did he ask for anything in return? No. Did he threaten the company into paying him to keep this secret? No.
He did what was right. What any good hacker would do. And it's sad why so few people know him.
And to me, this guy is a hero.
Oh, and to put more burn to the company, it's called BakaSoftware.
and this is why i want to learn how to program/hack... to make the world a better place!

Now that's what I call a reason to learn.
I can always direct you to a few guides, show you a few tricks, teach you about the hacker mindset, etc...
If I can get one more person to adopt the ways of the white hat, and push back the greedy hands of faceless mega corps, it'll be worth the time spent.
353482 well... actually, i already am learning and i understand all of the background mechanics in programming... the only problem is i haven't learnt the codes themselves
I, myself, have a few (like 3-4) online guides bookmarked for three different languages... but the more, the merrier!dl.dropbox.com/u/31471793/FiMFiction/emoticons/shrug_Derpy_Hooves.png
edit: guides not made by me

Awesome, but do you have this one?
Python forever! But anyway, it's really nice since it brings you into the programmer mindset, plus learning how to code.
And while the more the merrier is often good here, it's a little bit different than what you might think.
1. Learning different languages when you can't write at least one can backfire, I'd suggest learning Python first, and only learning that.
2. Once you get that done, then you should look into other types of languages. Are they static or dynamically typed? What about strong or weak typed? If you want to learn other languages just to be better, choose ones that are very different to what you know.
3. Once your feet are wet in the digital world, hacking is a great way to learn, experiment, and challenge yourself. Goto a neat little site called [url=Hackthissite.org]Hackthissite.org, and do the basic challenges. That feeling when you learned something new is unbelievable.
Hope this helped, I'll be here if you ever need to ask anything or need help.
Oh, and more thing about Python, recursion is, and always will be, a bitch. Python just makes it a little easier.
353543 actually, i have seen this one before, but it was before i actually got into programming
my problem isnt in the mindset and such... its the execution... a good analogy is spoken languages, you can understand what you are trying to say, but not how to say it
anyways, i have a long time a head of me, so it isnt that imperative that i learn the execution part right away, i can take my time (as i am still in highschool)
Edit: but i intend this as my chosen career path (maybe not in hacking, but programming itself)
also, i am signed on for some classes, which starts in half a year
My friend Emmett is an accomplished hacker, he overrid my laptop once, just to make my background a troll face.
I will bookmark this for study!

Eh, classes, I tend to be against formal education like that.
Look at me: I have never gone to a programming class, and yet I know so much.
Curiosity. Something better than what any class can provide.
But I guess that's just me, I love to learn as much as I can, and not have someone else telling me what to learn, and in what way.
355330 i find it easier to learn when you have someone who can answer the questions you have, also it makes me have more motivation to practice, as i need an idea or project to practice on, and they give the projects, in increasingly harder/complex intervals (aka challenging you with what you know)
but yes, everything i have learned so far was from either my own curiousity or by reverse engineering video games (all started with minecraft)
thus i can read and understand scripts, but not write them very well (as i dont know how to make starting script for the program)
i think my problems stem from me learning in reverse order
FUCK.... YAH. so glad i met you dylan.
