Of Cards and Board Games

So, I’ve got nothing better to do. Might as well rap, right? I’m thinking of something to do with cards. What do you say? Interested?

Okay, let’s go.

I never claim to be an ace, but I’m a step away from a king
Don’t have a queen to call me own. No, I’m not joking, it stings.
I wear a suit made of diamonds, so yeah, I’m head to toe dressed in bling.
Nah, not really. Just tryna make your hearts beat with this club that I swing.

I’ve been 8 before, but I’m not that crazy.
Me, learn to play poker? Nah, I’m too lazy.
Even continuing to write this is starting to amaze me.
But my immaturity is like Nikki: It’s never gonna faze me.

Ever play spit? It’s as easy as spitting.
Just be quick with your hands and never go Fishing.

I may have just mixed two up. Yeah, I can be confusing.
This is why I play solitaire. Even solitude can be amusing.

So, I may have run dry with my knowledge of card games, unfortunately. Haha. So, instead, I’ll continue with board games. You know, the things you play when you’re bored!

(I assure you, I will make that joke again)

Teleport to a battlefield with a soldier count of 32.
Though, for a war, I have to admit it is quite a few.

We’ve got a queen, a king, two rooks, bishops, and knights.
8 pawns for each, but not a single prince in sight.

I’m a little good at the game, but I can’t get into the groove.
I’m a little peeved off when I get hit with checkmate in 3 moves.

It’s okay. I’ve got Backgammon.
But I’ll probably get smoked a piece of gammon.
Or a good piece of pink salmon.
…
Now I’m hungry.

I’ve been swerving off for a while. Time to go forward.
I’ll board a ship abroad just so I can play some board games when bored. (see?)

That’s what I like to call Battleship.
When I play Operation, I make sure to make the slip.
Then I say “Sorry” followed by a witty remark; quip.
But just know, when playing, I never experience a guilt trip.

Welp, I think my work is done here.
All that’s left to do is end it fly.
I don’t just want to disappear.
Oh, I know. I’ll just say... farewell!
