NEW POKEMON REVEALED FOR JULY!!! · 7:29pm Jul 19th, 2016

Minus two we already knew about from the recent Corocoro leak, those being Mimikyu and Bewear, only now they have official English names. As you could tell because I said Bewear. And now this intro sentence isn't funny.

Within the last few hours, GameXplain dropped a new Pokemon trailer revealing some brand new Pokemon to toy around with, and once again one of them has to destroy the metagame even further by providing us with an OP ability that no doubt people are going to spam the shit out of. But alas, let us analyze these wonderful Pokemon. I even did some extra research just for you lovely people!

You're welcome! :rainbowkiss:

I won't be talking about the "Hyper Training" in this blog, but I will give you my quick thoughts on it. I personally really like the concept of leveling your Pokemon's stats further even if they're Lv. 100, as this could prove to be massively OP in tournaments. Though the name Hyper Training just seems like GameFreak's trying to go bigger than Super Training and whatnot, which honestly wouldn't surprise me if that were the case.

Wimpod

Type: Bug/Water
Ability: Wimp Out

Well, you're certainly going places with that name. NOT!

But I digress, this Pokemon legitimately surprised me when it was revealed on my computer screen. Wimpod is a trilobite Pokemon, not to be confused with Kabuto since that was a horseshoe crab Pokemon. This leads me to believe it may be one of the ancient Pokemon of this generation much like Kabuto, but not quite since we seem to encounter it in the wild. Bug/Water is a great type in my opinion, only having three weaknesses but having five resistances. Surskit was literally the only Pokemon with that typing, so I'm happy to see a Bug/Water Pokemon that might turn out to be great!

Its ability is a new ability introduced to the game called Wimp Out. This ability causes Wimpod to flee when attacked, leading me to believe this could translate into a trainer battle with a switch-out and switch-in sorta thing. If this was the case, we can just continue bashing the metagame because, fuck it; it was already going anyway. I just wonder if this guy will get an evolution.

Bounsweet

Type: Grass
Ability: Leaf Guard/Oblivious

I was joking, Rowlet. THIS is the true overlord of hell!

Look at its cute eyes and rotund body! It clearly wants to kill us all! But I guess it still is kinda cute. In all honesty though, Bounsweet looks to be just another Grass-type Pokemon to me. Its design is clearly based off of Cherrim (though I don't really care about Cherrim so fuck it), and it seems to just be that one other early-game Grass-type you can get if you missed out on Rowlet. Which is a little sad because this Pokemon has tons of potential, believe it or not.

I'm not saying I'm right all the time, but if this thing ends up having good or at the very least decent stats, Leaf Guard can help it out in the long run. Sunlight will prevent it from receiving any status conditions, and in a game where the metagame breaks every two goddamn seconds, that is something to treasure. Though if this Pokemon does end up having decent stats, there are better Pokemon to use that have Leaf Guard, like Leafeon or even Tangrowth for god's sake! Again, I shouldn't be counting my chickens before they hatch since Bounsweet could still evolve, but no one keep their hopes up, alright?

Comfey

Type: Fairy
Ability: Flower Veil/Triage

Yet another Fairy-type that should also be a Grass-type with all the flowers, but isn't.

Comfey could be on my sister's team simply because it's cute. But that's just about all it could be; cute. Well, tell a lie, there is one thing it could be good at, but more on that later. Honestly there's not much else to talk about when it comes to this Pokemon, besides the fact its name is literally a pun on "Comfy", which makes me think a certainly early game youngster may use this little guy. Why? Because shorts are comfy and easy to wear.

But what sets Comfey apart from the rest is its new ability, Triage, which gives priority +1 to all healing moves. Heal Pulse, Recover, you name it and it goes first! If used correctly and if Comfey has some good stats, this ability will break the metagame in double battles. Though I say that a lot, it's all true! Having a healer that moves first almost all the time will be ludicrously overpowered! Though it's kinda hard to compete with Mega Launcher Heal Pulse in double battles. Seriously, I tested it out recently and it fucking works. But that's a story for a different time. Right now we have our incredibly awesome new Pokemon to look at.

Mudsdale

Type: Ground
Ability: Own Tempo/Stamina

It's a horse. Bring on the My Little Pony memes.

I actually really like this Pokemon's design, to be honest. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but those legwarmers on its hooves do it for me and I'm not sure why. I won't flat out say it's cute or even that it's my favorite of the Pokemon covered here, but I do want to point out that I have an unpopular opinion and you all can destroy me now. But nonetheless, I will always be here to make incredibly American jokes while sitting on my air mattress and laughing away.

Mudsdale has a new ability called Stamina, which increases its defense every time it gets hit by a physical attack. I swear to god if this thing has way too much special defense and forces you to use a physical attack on it, I will fly to Tokyo, enter the GameFreak HQ, and beat the shit out of Masuda. It's a brilliant Pokemon, and that's exactly why I feel as if it could potentially be overpowered. Just imagine, if you will, the boss of Alola's evil team having one of these guys on their side. And imagine, if you will, you only have physical Pokemon on your side. First of all, what's wrong with you, but second of all, you're getting fucked up.

Mimikyu

Type: Ghost/Fairy
Ability: Disguise

Okay, now THIS is going too far.

I know I joked about the metagame being destroyed and blah, blah, blah, whatever! But THIS is the Pokemon that will RUIN YOUR STRATEGIES. And holy fuck I want one on my team. Screw it if it doesn't evolve, and screw it if it doesn't have good stats, I want it on my team simply because its ability is one of the most overpowered abilities to ever surface in the metagame. Are you ready? Take a close look at this.

Mimikyu's ability is called Disguise. With it, it basically counts as a free substitute. One free substitute you can use to do whatever you want and place whatever you need to on the battlefield before Mimikyu's probably low speed stat gets usurped by another Pokemon. If Mimikyu is allowed access to the move Substitute, you can have TWO defensive barriers in front of it. Have it next to Comfey in double battles, heal up that lost HP to keep using Substitute and make everyone hate you. And that's why Mimikyu will never get an evolution; because it's already way too OP to have an increase in power. Watch as next month I'm proven wrong.

Fuck, I love this thing!

Bewear

Type: Normal/Fighting
Ability: Fluffy/Klutz

And last but certainly not least, we have Bewear.

Its names like these that make me wonder if Chuggaaconroy had anything to do with naming these guys. Seriously, the punmaster himself Chuggaaconroy was definitely here. But in any case, this is certainly my least favorite of the new Pokemon designs. I don't HATE it, but it just feels out of place alongside other Pokemon like Pangoro, as you'll see in the trailer. Like, it looks like a "My Neighbor Totoro" reject that has resurfaced to kill us all!

It has a new ability, Fluffy, which halves damage taken from contact moves like Mach Punch and Thunder Fang, but in return the Pokemon with this ability takes double damage from Fire-type moves. Let's just hope there aren't any Grass/Bug-type Pokemon who have this ability, because that's a 8x super effective move against them. Or worse. But it seems like only mammals will get this ability, if not only Bewear. This ability is the only non-metagame-breaking ability of the new ones I showed off here, but it's still a little OP if you really think about.

And those were the new Pokemon!

Do you like what you saw? If so, tell me your thoughts in the comments below! Do you like the new Pokemon revealed, or do you absolutely hate them? What's you're favorite of the six? And most importantly, do you think we'll be getting a dolphin Pokemon soon since bottlenose dolphins are native to Hawaii? Tune in next time!

Until then this is SuperKamek saying thank you, have a great night, and I'm dead serious when I said I want Mimikyu on my team. Get it? Dead? Because it's a Ghos- No need to pull out your gun, I'll just shoot myself...

So many awesome pokemon!

4101380
Which is your favorite of the bunch?

4101381 I'm a sucker for Mimikyu, which is strange since I'm not a big fan of ghosts.

4101389
Mimikyu's my favorite as well, if you couldn't already tell. :derpytongue2:

4101393 It is quite adorable! If it evolves, wounder what it'll look like.

So this time we got:
-a pokemon with the ability to flee when it reaches half health, catching this could be worse then roaming legendaries
-a berry... there isn't much to say about each one
-a healing flower ring... here not much to say too
-a rastafari pony and everyones newest favourite tank
-a new set pokemon for my team (alongside popplio and rockruff) seriously I already love this thing more than pikachu
-...and a pedobear

4101461
- Not even close, sorry.
- Though yeah, we have another lame Grass-type. Though it IS based off a type of Hawaiian fruit!
- I get you're German, but that there is called a Lei, which is a type of Hawaiian necklace. This does in fact mean GameFreak is taking inspiration from Hawaii, and we may just see a Bottlenose Dolphin Pokemon yet!
- It's a Clydesdale. Mudsdale. Clydesdale. See?
- Though that's not saying much since Greninja was actually voted the most popular Pokemon.
- ...yeah, again, you got me there.

Comfey: I didn't want to insult this pokemon. I knew what this is supposed to represent, I just didn't knew what to say. And I admit I kinda forgot how hawaiian it is (despite being a huge Lilo&Stitch fan)
Mimikyu: I just referenced the fact, that it tries to mimic(:trixieshiftright:) Pikachu to get attention

Bounsweet just looks like a redesigned Hoppip to me.:rainbowhuh: And as for the new pony Pokémon, yeah I'm still sticking with my Rapidash named Twilight.

Would have commented sooner but I was busy playing Monster Hunter Generations.
#PalicoMasterRace

4101934
But that ability though... Mudsdale is just overall better than Rapidash. That Ground-type doesn't help the ratio either. :rainbowlaugh:

4102069
Yeah, of course you have... :ajsleepy:

4102347 I promise you one thing my dear Kamek, when you get the game we're going to play the hell out of it. :pinkiehappy:

4102345 You know, at the risk of sounding like I'm whining, my favorite line of dialogue from ANYTHING Pokémon is:

I'm not interested in the same strong Pokémon everyone else is using. I try to win with my favorites.

Words of wisdom from a random kid on Route 32 in Johto. And I like Rapidash. :twilightsmile:Though I'll probably still have a Mudsdale just cause.:pinkiehappy:

4102353
Yeah, but you'd already be HR-782 by that point. :rainbowlaugh:

4102360
Well, if someone's favorite is Luvdisc...

...oh boy... :twilightoops:

But still, great advice!

Creepypastas = Dead :derpytongue2:
