I'm restored and ready for duty!
Didn't think it would take this long to regain my energy(and sanity) after Everfree Northwest. So yeah; I was there, but not as an attendee. My involvement was with the security forces charged with ensuring that the convention ran as smoothly as a first year convention could. It was an interesting experience with a lot memorable moments as well as many mishaps. I'd rather not talk about the bad stuff, but I'll say that there were some very close calls that still make me cringe in fear when ever I recollect them... It was still a pleasant experience non-the-less and it lifts my mood when I think about what my duty was, like accompanying some of VIPs throughout the weekend like Peter New, Shannon Chan-Kent, Tara Strong (don't ask) and Andrew Francis. My team was assigned to Mr. Francis mostly and it was fun seeing how enthusiastic he was about the whole convention.

So why did take so long to restore myself? I can say that it had nothing to do with the attendees, everyone was respectful and understood orders whenever we had to step in. The most ominous problem throughout the convention was the limited staff. I'm not sure if the situation was the same for any other department, but our already diminished staff took heavy losses on the first day, depleting our garrison so most of us including myself took it upon ourselves to be on duty for indefinitely. In retrospect, it was kind of funny how by Sunday we were laughing about what sleep was and how some communicated only by shouting during breakdown. I suppose many of us were going a little crazy after closing ceremonies, at least it was funny crazy like "There is no way you can fit that crate in that clown car!" or "Why does the shuttle bus never come back to the Holiday Inn?".
It goes without saying, I passed out the moment I returned home and slept through the following Monday. Throughout the last three weeks, I've been trying to regain my motivation to resume tasks and stuff. It seems that now my creativity is returning after delving into the thing that always gives me motivation, painting Warhammer 40k Models. Not just any kind of model, but Forgeworld models! Cadian Hazardous environment suits, the very ones I imagined the characters from my "End is the Beginning" story. As soon as I'm done with them I'll be sure to post them here. I shall also resume the story as well now that I've done a lot of thinking on how to proceed.
I just finished putting heads on the last of my guardsmen today! Good to hear from you, and I'll be looking forward to reading more from you soon.
