New story, Perilune, is live. Definitely a good way to start the day when you otherwise have to wake up at 4:30, work twelve hours, then drive home in rush hour traffic. I wrote it as an excuse to nerd out about aerospace stuff, but I actually ended up very pleased with the result. It gave me a dual opprotunity to write about flying/space AND Luna being a brat.
It's not super-accurate from a technical standpoint, I was going for 'close enough'. I made up some numbers and systems in the LM sequence, but it should all work out inside the context of the story, if not real life. (I can do basic math stuff like acceleration, but figuring out something like an orbital trajectory is wayyy beyond my ability.) Spent a while looking through transcripts of the moon landing to try to get a feel for it.
Anyway, give it a read and let me know what you think. Poor story desperately needs some love, any love. You wouldn't want it to wander over to the red light district on the bad side of town, would you?
On an unrelated note, is it just me or has the show really stepped their game up for Season 6? 'On Your Marks' was probably the weakest of the bunch so far and it was still great compared to the off episodes of other seasons.
