Season 6, the Crystal Heart, No such thing as canon · 10:48pm May 18th, 2016
So I doubt I will ever pen the self insert I have in my head, because, well, it is a self insert, I daresay everyone thinks of it, and it would be too personal and unpopular to be worth it. OTOH there may be enough interesting things I could do with it...
Take for example my latest musing. As a really soft equestrian, the season 6 premier bothered me for multiple reasons. (Think I snorted when Cadance ran away from the camera and showed us...nothing) The premise that Celestia and Luna had to fight a losing battle against the weather because an infant broke the Crystal Heart keeping the Crystal City(how the hell is it an empire anymore?)warm. It sucks terribly.
I mean, it just doesn't work! In the Crystal Empire episodes, the city is lush and green. I guess you could say that it was a side effect of Cadance's shield, but you'd be wrong! A city is displaced for 1000 years, in a snowy wasteland. When it comes back, what happens to the snow?
Yes yes, I know it's generally accepted that air will be shunted aside when you teleport a mass to a new location(or in this case a time delayed translocation) but thousands of tons of snow? Even if you handwave that away, it would take time for Cadance and Shining Armor to get there and save the city from freezing. Time they most certainly don't have.
The Crystal heart is responsible for keeping an empire warm, needs to be empowered yearly, and was under Sombra's hoof for how long?
It just, my head asplode!
