I did it! Whew! Sure, it took three months, a stroke of luck and a job fair or two, but I finally snagged a job 
It's nothing glamorous, just a minimum starting-wage job giving surveys over the phone, but it has a tiered pay system where I get a raise whenever I work a certain number of hours, and after 100 hours, I can work from home! Meaning I could eliminate the cost of gas going to and from work 
But a new problem has arisen! 
My rig got zapped by a rouge lightning storm! 
But weird thing is, most of the thing is just fine 
Instead, somehow, just all but one of my USB ports have been fried, leaving me with only one input point for all my interface devices (which is everything! I don't use the outdated crap!) so now whatever I do, I have to swap my trackball, keyboard, controller, or headset around on a single USB port, which is infuriatingly tedious and makes getting back to gaming with my friends all but impossible right now 
So I've got to get a powered USB hub and hope I don't have to screw with it to work my devices, and also get the ports themselves replaced, so until then, I'm now available for things outside of job hunting, but I can't game my friends. BACK TO ADVENTURE~! 
Ya do know you could get a USB splitter.... Right? That's what I use with my laptop, man.
