Dark Soul 3 is scary · 11:07pm Apr 11th, 2016
As if
So yeah, i've been lucky enough to get Dark soul 3 today, while it should only be available tomorrow, you have no idea how happy i feel like, even more than those peoples who got it like 3 weeks ago, or 1 weeks ago for that matter.
So i'm just taking a break for the night and felt like sharing my experience with you guys, don't worry for those who don't have it yet i'll try to spoil as little as possible (don't hesitate to share yours as well in the comments, i'd love to hear it)
So like always the intro is awesome, and when you try to connect every intro from every Dark soul, you realize just how far you really went into the story :
you started as an undead, you were the undead of legend the one to repel the dark
then you discovered your true nature, and became more than a simple undead, more than a king, you became human, by assembling all of the crowns
but in the end, only dark will remains.
That's what Dark soul 3 feels like, now only dark remain
It doesn't looks anything like Dark soul 1 and 2
those two had some....lively ? environments.
now you feel like you've reached the end, everything is grey and decaying, a world who struggles to stay in one piece.
yeah i say that but i've only reached the first "dungeon" for now.
Dungeon who got quite it's little tricks on me, some that you may remember from a previous game
i'm just gonna leave you a hint to guess it : easy souls, burning path, you crossed it once and now you'll know when he's comming.
Speaking of things from the previous game, upon starting the game, you'll see a lot of stuff referencing to them, so we can pretty much guess it takes places after those two.
if you're a dark soul player, you'll get the hand of this one pretty easily, the tutorial boss, is not very hard, and a bit surprising.
You'll spot most of the traps before even falling into them but still, i can't say this game is easier than Dark soul 2
first because, right now, we can only play it offline, meaning no orange marks to give you some hints about what you may face behind that next door that you're not sure that you should open, you feel that stress again from the first game when you were lost, not really knowing where to go, something that i feel like, was a bit missing in Dark soul 2.
I started with 3 Estus flask instead of one or 5, i feel like it's a fair number to start, knowing that the enemies for now aren't too hard to take care off. (though don't expect getting a shit tons of those healing gems at the beginning like the previous game).
A new addition too is the fact that you can now spilt your Estus flask between the ones healing you and the ones, giving you some Mana
for every spells and weaponmaster moves
speaking of which, using a katana has never been this awesome since Raiden and Vergil.
SPOILERS AHEAD read at your own risks
you've been warned
Right at the start, you know that you may be encountering some old enemies, may be Artorias ? right at the beginning you can see a cult of abysswalkers, all using swords exactly looking like his, and dressing nearly the same, but do not worry as you'll meet some old friends as well, like our good old blacksmith from Dark soul 1, yup the same guy, in the same place, kinda weird when you know that this place isn't called Lordran or Drangleic anymore. From what i've seen on the music CD, Ornstein might be back as well, it's only a theory though. the Lord vessel is still here as well..or may be just what's left of it.
A lot of things changed, but some just never does
i feel like the game isn't as unforgiving as it used to be, though there's a lot more to discover
they really made it an oppressing world, one who's close to the end
but who's definitly worth discovering it.
For those of you who don't have it, don't hesitate to follow some vids on YouTube
it's a really nice touch to the series, and who wouldn't love to know what's the true purpose of Humanity ?

I just started playing Dark Souls 3 and for some reason it runs fine for about 10 minutes then it just crashes on me. I may have to update my processor.
