Season 6 premiere bullet point list.

Okay, everyone, watched the Season 6 premiere and, cutting to the chase, here's a bullet point list off my favorite things about it:

*The Starlight/Sunburst subplot. I dunno what it is, but I really like how these two work off each other. The writers really capture the natural awkwardness between them well in their dialogue, as well as BOTH of them having a reason not to share their past, as opposed to Starlight struggling to hide her past before an inevitable reveal.

Sunburst himself is a pretty interesting character himself as well. A stallion with a lot of knowledge, but lacks to confidence to put it into practical use. I especially give props to his voice actor; there's a uniqueness to his voice and a realism to the way he talks. He really sells the bookish, but unconfident type. Love that little quirk of his where he's constantly readjusting his glasses.

I can see they're trying to do for Starlight what they did for Sunset Shimmer, and while at the moment Sunset the far more compelling and interesting character, I do think they're putting Starlight down the right path. That scene at the beginning with her having a near PTSD flashback with white noise filling the audio felt genuinely unnerving.

She also works REALLY well off Spike. I really like to see them interact more in the future. Speaking of which...

*Spike once again shines whenever he is in his role as a supportive friend/assistant, one of the things which the first Equestria Girls film is accredited for.

*Shining Armor's role and him being a complete WRECK upon becoming a father! These have to be my favourite episodes featuring Shining. It was good to see him given more to actually do in an episode and flesh out his character more as he assumes the role as a father. Seriously, he had some of the funniest lines and moments this episode. The whole parenthood jokes really resonate well with those in a similar position. Hell, the whole itself ended up being a lot funny than I honestly thought it was gonna be.

*The Royal Sisters actually getting INVOLVED in the action for once, instead of sitting on the sidelines or being imprisoned by a villain.

*Flurry Heart. She's adorapwecious!

*The CHANGELING at the very end of the episode! Taking Starlight's subtle background cameos in the previous season into account, this bears well for a bugpony fanboy like myself.

Season 6 is off to a great start!

I THOUGHT there was something up with that vague, black blob flying in the background at the very end! Could be a prelude to more changelings, or just the creators messing with the fans. Either way, I like it. Good to see more of those little love-eaters making cameos, though
