Season 6 Opening

I'm going to start by saying I'm not stuck on the season 6 opener. Now for those of you who know, there was one part that made my jaw drop because it's been the complaint I've been preaching since I became a Brony, Twilight's parents, I've been begging, yelling and groaning over how they should be involved and I finally got what I wanted but that doesn't excuse the opening. Now I did like large parts like Shining Armour getting some development, Interesting Crystal Ponies, Starlight Glimmer/Sunburst friendship (I think I might write a ship fic on that one) and Pinkie Pie making me laugh my head off. However I found the episodes head scratching and at some parts annoying, Flurry Heart being 90% of my annoyance, seriously they didn't name her till the end of the second episode....bull and the other 10% goes to Twilight....now I like Twilight but oh my god, she couldn't be more annoying in this episode and sadly I can't put my finger on why she was annoying, she just was.

There was that line about Luna and Celestia, not knowing about Baby Alicorns, okay back-story now, writers you better come up with a backstory damn quickly for Celestia and Luna because that suggests they're more like Twilight and Cadence than we thought, it also suggests our worst fears of Twilight outliving her friends maybe a very real possibility now, that line (in my books) has done more damage than the writers were thinking. Flurry Heart being an alicorn was....I don't know...off putting.

So now onto my summarising thoughts. I'm going to give points to characters I feel did a good or bad job, I won't mention character if I feel indifferent.

Spike gets Plus 5, really supportive and I think he did a great job

Starlight Glimmer gets plus 5, Loved her story with Sunburst and I hope we get to see friendship develop to love between the two.

Sunburst gets plus 5, Same reason as Starlight.

Applejack gets plus 4, that cot was great

Rarity gets plus 4, really very funny

Pinkie Pie gets Plus 4, very funny too.

Shining Armour gets plus 3, finally some development

Cadence gets plus 3, yeah same as your husband keep it up!

Rainbow Dash gets plus 1, well done on the gift

Fluttershy minus 3, sorry what did you do?

Twilight minus 5, why, what and how?

Flurry Heart minus 10, You couldn't be more annoying if you said "Misa is pelosa!"

So the episode in my mind can be split into two. The first being Starlight and Sunburst's story, which I would give a 9 out of 10 and I really hope we get to see Sunburst and Starlight become more than friends. The second is Flurry Heart and the Ice age thing....boring, couldn't care less and that gets 5 out of 10. So I'll add them together and divide them in two to get 7 out of 10. So here's to season 6...not hopeful on this one.
