New here, not familiar with website just yet

Hey there!

so, this is a little harder for me to write than a story, as i've never been superly great with introducing myself. ^^;
I'm Alcadera and usually regarding pony stuff i go with the name Meteor Guise, a nickname sadly already taken here. I have begun writing my own story, or fanfic as some may wish to call it. And i've no clue how to get it read by as many people as possible ^^;; oh dear...

I've joined and posted what i have of my story yesterday, and today i figured i ought to send out a little blog for anyone interested. Not sure how things go here. so i dont know if anything will see this other than looking at my page @.@

My first impressions are a bit mixed. the website works pretty orderly and the tools to put my story online are easy to use. The like and dislike function hasn't been too kind on me yet at the point that i write this blog. I've received one favourite thus far and that's awesome! but i've also received two thumbs down. [yeah XD its nothing i know, but theire the first two rates i've gotten not counting my own like while i was trying to see if clicking the like/dislike bars would show who chose what]
Nothing spectacular just yet, but it speaks for itself that anonymous ratings can be as much of a de-motivator as it can be a motivator. I prefer comments above all else ofcourse because i know who said it, and i can expect those who dont like it to give some reasoning [on the internet? well, theres gotta be people in the brony fanbase that dont just go "lulz it has no CoD in it, u suxxor" ...right?... i mean there shouldn't be ANY bronies like that right? well i hope not -.-]

Granted i wasn't sure what tags to use on the story. it's got a little bit of light humor in it, but the eventual intent is to work on the main character's breaking mental health [havent gotten that far yet, he needs a big hit in chapter 2 to start working on the good stuff in chapter 3] so i tagged tragedy sad and dark... but maybe the thumbs down were from readers expecting slit wrists and death every other 2 lines... while i'm trying to keep it clean and avoid every mentioning of death like a real MLP episode would. So i figured i'd tag comedy for the occasional joke [because any good story can handle periodic jokes with ease, regardless of the rest of the story's content... for a dark picture you still need bright paint] and also tag Romance because i'm going to focus on the main character's feelings towards Nightmare Moon and Luna.

Anyhoo, thats the experience with posting the story ^^; i suppose things will get better as i post the rest of chapter 2 and start posting other chapters. I hope i will still get comments later on, though i'm sure as my submission soon will disappear from the front page, getting new viewers without writing a super populair story that gets linked by everyone to everyone will be harder... unless updating with a new chapter sends it back to the top? i don't know how that works ^^:
