A Love-Hate Relationship... With My Own Creation · 8:04am Aug 26th, 2012
Priscus Layton. I love writing him. Well, in actuality, I love writing him being an ass.
I know that he ISN'T one, but he does come off that way. That is completely intentional. Unfortunately, writing a completely statistical and nearly emotionless character has two problems.
First one is obvious. He doesn't have a hero or something that is constantly bothering him.
The second one is not as obvious. When I write him and his deductions and his thought process, I get to be a jerk myself. And I don't like that. Even the act of writing him and his point of view makes me act all frowny face.
I noticed that when I write him, while it may be fun for a little while, I get all serious and I even get out of the mood to sing with my terrible voice. Do you know how crazy that is? Me, NOT singing? If you knew my friends, you could ask them how many times I sing in a day and they would look at you like you are crazy and ask “You mean that Mango actually talks?”
Er… yea. Mango. Kind of a nickname. Don’t ask.
Please. Don’t ask.
I like Priscus, but only because he is different than any other character that I wrote before. That reason only. That, and I can finally go back to writing the comfortable and both terrible kind of character I have fallen in love with again. A strict, professional, and normal love for a kind of character that lots of people like. The happy-go-lucky, go with the flow kind of character.
Poor, poor Priscus. I made him so... emotionless. So... unimaginative and needing facts. Well, time to introduce his opposite.
Soon. Not in the next chapter and probably not in the next.
Sorry about my tired ramblings. It's 2 in the morning and I am all hyped up on Gatorade.
Did you know that tired is just ti and red put together. When I write the word tired, I always say in my mind Ti-Red so I can type it out correctly.
Bah I knew there was a story I meant to read... Other than the other 50 on my read later list..
Gonna do that at this ungodly hour I suppose.
312595 When you type the word tired you will now say in your mind Ti-red.
Sorry, but that is the only thing that I can focus on. It's weird. Did you notice that the word weird doesn't follow the i before e rule? It's a little... weird.
I know. I have 25 on my read later list, and 22 updates that I don't feel like reading right now. Bleh.
