Character Spotlight "Azure Lining" · 3:33am Mar 6th, 2016
Ok first off this is WAY more then a post every 2 days, so far I have posted every day! (2 times today alone)
If this is to many I am sorry i'm just very excited about the return to my root story.
For chapter 2 we finally get to see the main Character "Azure Lining". we open with her heading up the stairs to the room she rented in chapter 1 "The Cloaked Pony". Right off the bat we see that she views the world in another light.
As she Dosn't use the senses that is dominant in most others. So we 'see' that a lot of a reliance on the medium of sound and others. She hears your heart beat, she smells the wood, she feels the wind, she tastes the currents. and using all this information draws a map of everything around her in real time.
In many ways this makes her harder to write after all you cant sneak up on some one who can pinpoint you walking up near her. That trap in the temple activates sending a rolling boulder to crush you? She hears it grind along. She feels the vibrations in the ground that its coming. and while this is all and good it also has its down sides.
Try to surprise her with a party? at first glance its not that hard. But again she smells the cake ahead of time. She hears the pony's waiting to jump out.
Wanting to go to a music event? She cant. the shear amount of sound drowns out her main sense leaving her blind. the huge amount of hooves stomping around erase everything else.
She is a flyer that cant fly anymore... To do so would cut off half her senses. She can no longer indulge in a piece of who she is. She can never again look in a mirror and say 'This is me.' And while we take that for granted all the time, to lose that would leave many of us in a dark place indeed.
After so long living in this state she has come to where she is in the story. She is deadened to the world, she doesn't try to make things better because she has come to believe there is no 'better'.
All in all it sucks to be Azure. While yes she has so many positives, she has lost her way and can no longer see them. Which is where our next spot light will come in "Heart Song".
