Well my story was denied due to grammar. Apparently Fimfic is doing a new reviewing process for the sole purpose of making sure the quality of stories released onto the site is higher. My story failed.
the ironic thing is that my story has failed because i didn't have an editor yet and frankly? I still don't. My call for editor/editor's has fallen on death ears and so i don't expect an editor at all at this point as my story is currently to short to fit into an editor group.
That said I would like to give a big shout out to all the great people of CanterNet IRC. Shortly after my story failed moderation I poped over there and put out a request for people to come and help out.
The response was bigger then i could have dreamed of.
17 people showed up and helped edit my story. i personally was only expecting 2 maybe one. They helped me over haul my Chapter one. entire sentences got removed and rewritten. Over 50 comma's got added. And many more edits that all made the chapter much better. That said the chapter didn't change much. The edits are mainly minor little things that most people most likely notice.
In fact the mane thing that the editor had to say about my work was that my writing style is a little odd. I word things in way that most of them didn't expect. And while they agreed that it works, they did confess that can be a little jarring at first.
That said I am very proud of how far this story has come from its first version. When I decided to rewrite this story the very first thing I did was completely delete the original copy from the site as the rewrite is a complete rewrite from the ground up. i didn't break any rules with this as the old story is gone forever.
