What if Spike had a crush on Fluttershy instead of Rarity?

Hello, fellow MLP fans, since I'm new here I'm gonna discuss a topic that made me go thinking for awhile. Like what would happen if DHX decides to have Spike have a crush on Fluttershy instead of Rarity. Well, either way for "fillers" or story, it would be a lot of change. (Well, in case, you didn't know. the DHX production crew originality wanted Spike to have a crush on Fluttershy.)

The episodes are:
A Dog and Pony Show
Secret of My Excess
Dragon Quest
Inspiration Manifestation

Keep Calm and Flutter On
Twilight's Kingdom
Make New Friends But Keep Discord

Let's start with A Dog and Pony Show:
The change would be Rarity going to find gems on her own. The results would be the same, Rarity getting kidnapped except that Spike not being there and getting help. Although, Rarity did fine on her own. She didn't really need anyone's help, she's perfectly capable on her own. Or if Spike was invited, it would be the same except that Spike doesn't fawn over her.

Next is Secret of My Excess:
This is really gonna be messy. Because of Spike having a crush on Fluttershy, Rarity wouldn't able to recieve Spike's Fire Ruby, which it made Spike feels good to change him from his full dragon size into normal size. Unless he could remember the times he and Fluttershy spent time together since he would have a crush on her. Or mainly due them spending time together, Fluttershy would do anything to get him back to normal. Or if Rarity really hopes not see the Fire Ruby being eaten but could still see it any time, she would probably tell him that it looks better giving to someone he likes, inspires him to be generous towards Fluttershy. And like Rarity, if Spike were to take the Fire Ruby from Fluttershy, she wouldn't allow it and knowing it's important to her because of Spike's generosity and kindness.

Alright, and it's Dragon Quest:
Because Fluttershy values Spike's friendship, she would at least watch the Dragon Migration by with him and the others. Plus, if she founds out Spike is going to try fit with the other dragons, she would do her best to keep Spike out of danger from the other dragons. Either it results the same, or she successfully kept Spike away from the dragons. Although towards the end, after trying hurt Spike and try to destroy phoenix egg, Fluttershy would be completely enraged and uses her Stare to drive Garble and the dragons away.

The last of the "fillers" (so far), Inspiration Manifestation:
Okay, due to Spike having a crush on Fluttershy, he doesn't hang with Rarity. He won't able to get the spell book for her, which left one problem averted. Although, one of her friends would drop by and cheer her up if they found her dilemma.

Now, on to the story with Keep Calm and Flutter On, Twilight's Kingdom, Make New Friends But Keep Discord:
Okay, "Make New Friends But Keep Discord" is technically "filler", but it'll be a later point, for now let's talk about the story episodes first. First up, "Keep Calm and Flutter On". Spike having spending time with Fluttershy would have him believe in her and even follow her decisions. Spike would most likely help Fluttershy to reform Discord, being by their side, accepting Discord as a friend. Which would probably have Discord less reasons to betray everyone in Equestria, it would have Discord capturing Tirek right away. Or even if he does still betray everyone, he would keep Fluttershy and Spike away from Tirek. And if doesn't change a thing, it would be unknown if Spike would even forgive Discord especially for breaking Fluttershy's heart, unless Fluttershy would talk him into forgiving him. And lastly, "Make New Friends But Keep Discord". Okay, okay. I know it's not a story episode, but it does followed up from "Twilight's Kingdom". Seeing how Fluttershy and Discord make up since then, plus with Spike being part of that friendship, Discord won't overreact of Fluttershy inviting Tree Hugger to the Grand Galloping Gala; and Discord might invite Spike. I guess it won't be much of an episode. Though from "Keep Calm and Flutter On" to "Twilight's Kingdom", Spike helping Fluttershy befriends Discord and give less reasons to betray Fluttershy and everyone, it would have had Spike's crush that saved a future disaster.

We got episodes out of the way. Now, it's on to the friendship.
Okay, we know that Fluttershy is different than Rarity. Fluttershy is compassionate, very empathetic, and caring to one's safety. And Spike is very helpful around, quite generous and kind, determined to get the job done, and rather have his friends feel satisfied before his owns desires and/or needs. So Spike might offer Fluttershy help around the cottage with the animals, however Fluttershy wouldn't want to trouble him with the work unless she reall needs it. Fluttershy and Spike might chat with one another around the cottage or in town. It might be later that Fluttershy find out Spike's crush towards her, Fluttershy would let Spike know they're still buddies just not directly, so she might not hurt him, or try not to influence him that there's something between. Or who knows, she'd probably not catch on. And if Spike sees that Fluttershy wants to leave it as friends, he might grant her wish; with being friends, it might get Spike to know her than meets the eye. In the end, Fluttershy and Spike would be the closest of friends even if Spike has affection towards her.

Honestly, I rather like the idea.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but unless I'm mistaken Spike was originally supposed to have a crush on Fluttershy instead of Rarity. I could see that happening, and them being happy together.
