Review of: Hotel California by BathroomStahl · 6:04pm Feb 17th, 2016
First off, kudos to the author. He's helped me with a lot of my stories and provided emotional support for me over the last year. Love you bro, but bets were off here, I'm reviewing this without bias.
So, let's cut to the chase!
Hotel California has a rather cliché start like most fan-fics. Twilight and Spike on their way to Canterlot...yadda, yadda, yadda...moving on!
Shortly after this is when it gets real trippy. The story seems to take place in a rather unique dreamscape, all the more reenforced by the author's great imagery.
We meet the cast of characters, all of them having a unique past as well. Historical figures, modern stallions and even myths and legends like succubi. I was a little taken aback by the diversity in all this, which is normally a bad thing, yet, I never got the sense that the author overdid it. This was due to the seamless and perfect transitions and moderate description make the scenes perfectly detailed rather than going overkill.
All in all, this story is like the song that it's based on, you can check it out any time you like, but you can never leave it.
This story gets a solid 75 Sparkles. The only reason it isn't higher is because it isn't finished and has much farther to go.
Keep up the good work Stahl!
Thanks for the review, Stan! I won't say much, but I'll tell you this: there's more to come. A lot more...
