Maybe I should call this a Gundere

During playing one of those free games apps you can find in the iPad, I was playing through the game when I was looking upon some old units that although are outclassed by now thanks to newer units ability-wise, lore-wise, they are the most impactful as they were the games respective characters you can pick upon first time trying out the game and that they influenced many others to follow in their footsteps. The mobile app game in question is called Brave Frontier and these are the respective first choice characters I'm referring to... you can say they're the mascots of the game.
Vargas: "My life's just a small price to pay. My will shall burn forever to light the future of the people!"
Selena: "I had always wanted to live freely. Hey, tell me something. Do you think I led a free life?"
Lance: "When I close my eyes and listen closely. I can hear the voice of someone precious calling me…"
Eze: "I won't lose to anyone! Only I can defeat my own self! I'll keep being an idiot till the end!"
Atro: "To see the smiling children continue on where we failed, that is my dream..."
Magress: "The pride of a knight. That should be the source of my power. But I failed to realize that sooner."
Okay, you got to see what they look like so how's this related to the story idea in mind? Well, in the world they're from, they faced off and died against a mysterious knight. But what if their deaths led them somewhere else? What if instead of becoming a spirit and ascending into heaven... What if, somehow, by a miracle, they ended up in Equestria? See, what I have in mind here is that, somehow, they ended up surviving and somehow appear in Equestria through the Crystal Mirror (Yes, I'm using something from Equestria Girls). They were called upon here though by who, no one knows. In their time being in Equestria, they sort of adapt to life here. As they adapt, an old evil awakens and begins to wreck havoc upon Equestria. This acts as their reasoning as to why they were called upon and of course they help the mane six in the effort to defeat this entity.
That pretty much summarizes the story idea in mind. Oh and the good thing about this, is that you don't really that much knowledge about the characters' lore. What do you guys and girls think? Does this seem like a good idea to try?
