Of all the voices that you could have given Ditzy, you give her that one.
If she was a boy then it would make sense, but she's not so it just sounds like she's retarded.
Why not use Balddumborat, that voice is at least 120% better.
Even if they just made it a bit hight pitched it would work.
But no thats to much effort for Hasbro.
Also the Name
To everyone saying she's called Derpy because the show said so.
She was called it by Rainbow Dash, the same pony who calls Twilight 'egghead' and Scottaloo 'snips'.
She is never that nice, so you expect her to be truefull about a pony with different eyes.
So still Ditzy.
But whats that you say, it says Depry on the wiki, so it must be.
Just think:
If you have an accident and lost your leg and everybody called you stumpy, and then someone from another country, writes a list of names, and only hear's the person calling stumpy and then decieds becuase you look like that it must be your name.
You wouldn't like it, and say someone says 'that can't be right.' but the others all say' well another person said so, so it must be true.'
It's the same here.
It was suppost to be Ditzy Doo but then the fans started calling her Derpy Hooves.
But you know what ticks me off the worst?
Lyra Heartstrings.
Everyone called her Lyra then the crew of the show said that it was Heartstrings but you keep using Lyra, but with Ditzy you just follow like sheep to the slaughter.

I agree, when I heard Derpy's (or Ditzy's I honestly don't care) voice I thought it was one of the worst choices possible, after all she isn't (at least not in the eyes of the majority) retarded, the thoughts on this vary, some say she is extremely intelligent only with odd eyes, others say she is clumsy, regardless of what you think it should.should not be i think everyone can agree that they need to get a new voice actor (or at least on who doesn't sound like they've has been hit in the head a few times)

I consider her to a mixture of both. A clumsy, smart, glorious "Derp"-eyed mare. But oh gods, that voice was just terrible
I was reading comments on EQD and so many people were so happy about "Derpy's" appearance, but personally I thought it was the worst part of the episode. I like the idea that Derpy is just one of those nicknames that was given to her by some jerk, because thats exactly what it sounds like; an insult. Jus' puttin' in mah own two bits on the subject.
