Did the Rainboom Cause Other Cutie Marks? · 10:28pm Dec 9th, 2015
Something has been bugging me. Admittedly it has been bugging me ever since I first watched The Cutie Mark Chronicles, but the recent season 5 finale has brought it back in full force.
Looking at the map of Equestria, we can deduce that, in order to reach all the way to the Pie Family Rock Farm (Applejack, if I recall, just saw a rainbow leading to Ponyville), Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom was HUGE (or that Equestria is really small). It would had to have covered a THIRD of Equestria just to make it the rock farm and it passed over it with no sign of slowing down. Dash's following Rainboom's are much smaller in comparison. The thing that's been bugging me is that an event that big would have been noticed by a lot of observers and, considering that many of those observers would have been blank flanks, many ponies besides the Mane Six would have gotten their cutie marks because of the Rainboom.
Is that why the alternate future became so bad? Did these ponies have to wait in order to get their cutie marks as well? Are they also connected to each other by a special "cutie mark bond"? Could any of these ponies have become Elements of Harmony?
Is a special cutie mark bond a necessary requirement to become an Element of Harmony? Celestia and Good King Sombra (from the comics) have wielded them alone, but those were special circumstances. Celestia and Luna are stated to have earned their cutie marks at the same time in The Journal of the Two Sisters. Do they also shared a special cutie mark bond? Do the crusaders share this bond?
So much fuel for the fanfic machine!
I actually had a few story ideas where the Rainboom brought together a different Mane Six (save for Rainbow Dash, who caused the Rainboom in the first place) who would wield the Elements.
What do you all think of this idea?
