New Oneshot in the works, plus a smapled narwhal · 11:03pm Nov 29th, 2015

Heya, I decided to do a oneshot, one I've been meaning to do since forever. It's a small, fluffy piece in the same vain as Lullaby For The Harp and For The Sake Of Love. I don't know how long it'll be. Right now I've got a bit over 2.4k words, but it's definitely going to be more than that. When will it come out? Somewhere between this week and when-it's-done. Have an unedited smaple for now!

Be assertive, Fluttershy told herself to be while she awkwardly scratched the ground with one hoof, be assertive!

“Come on now, it’s okay,” she said, trying to make the best effort at sounding kind while she moved forward.

Rainbow Dash didn’t fight as Fluttershy pushed the door open, even though the pegasus expected some resistance at least. The only thing she spotted was a growing redness on her friend’s face as she walked into the house. It was a blush which explained itself the moment Rainbow Dash’s entire body came into sight. Apparently she had decided to dress for the occasion, as she wore pull-ups with rather adorable cloud patterns on them. They were of a sea green color and Fluttershy found that Rainbow Dash looked quite natural in them, which of course she would never say that way. She didn’t want to demean her friend in any way, after all.

Rainbow Dash closed the door behind her and Fluttershy turned to her, hoping their eyes would meet. They didn’t quite, as the other mare had taken to look at the ground, head as red as a tomato. Fluttershy’s ears perked up instinctively, as she realized that this wasn’t the spot to just intrude and say nothing. This was already the start, the grand opening of her “foal”sitting debut and the point where it would be decided how this would affect every single future interaction with Rainbow Dash.

“There’s no need to be embarrassed,” she said quite consciously. Follow that up with a light-hearted joke. Think Pinkie, Fluttershy. Think. Pinkie! “I didn’t know you were up to training pants already, I’m so proud of you.”

She tried to keep her smile, but inside her head, there was only screaming. That wasn’t Pinkie at all you idiot. She’ll hate you. She’ll hate you forever and you deserve it! Deserve it!

On the other end, however, the reaction wasn’t going in the direction Fluttershy expected it to go. Instead, Rainbow Dash managed to keep that nice shade of red she had going. She then tried to look up, though it truly was more of an attempt than just looking straight into Fluttershy’s eyes. “Th-thank you, M-Miss Fluttershy.”

Whether her smile was awkward or creepy, didn’t know, but she was pretty sure she lost her ability to blink at that moment, so that might’ve made it more creepy than anything else. There she stood, the oh so brazen Rainbow Dash, stuttering and shuffling her hooves. If it weren’t for size, she might’ve just been an embarrassed kid that got coo’ed at by her new foalsitter. She wasn’t quite sure whether this was a step in the right or the wrong direction, but for now she had to take it.

“So, uhm,” she said, looking around nervously.

And the awkwardness levels were rising once more. Rainbow Dash looked at her for a moment, before she came to the conclusion that she couldn’t leave everything to Fluttershy, who was probably just going to stand there for a while longer, doing absolutely nothing.

“You can just set your bags down upstairs,” Rainbow Dash said and turned around, “Miss Fluttershy.”
