A little Sneak Peak · 3:22am Nov 28th, 2015
Hi every one. Corrupted Champion here. For those who are enjoying my story The Great And Powerful Fairy Tail, I am currently working on two other stories as well. One of them being a Fallout Equestria story. For whom it may interest, here is a little sneak peak at the next story i hope to publish: Fallout Equestria: Sureality.
Fallout Equestria: Sureality
Chapter one: Passing through the gateway
War...war never changes. Noone ever rally knew exactly why it happened, but lots of folks have their theories of how. Most folks say that the Zebras smuggled artificial baal fire bombs into Equestria. Artificial spells capable of turning a lush forest of trees into a barren wasteland crammed into big rockets that would be either launched from miles away with pinpoint accuracy, or smuggled in underground tunnels and detonated remotely in the center of a city, like what apparently happened to Manehatten.
The Ponies of Equestria survived this by retreating into underground bunkers called 'Stables'. These stables were built to sustain large populations for centuries. Keeping them fed with underground gardens, orchards or synthesis dispensers that made nothing but processed food. My name is Cinnamon Swirl, An earth pony born in one such bunker, Stable 47; and this is my story...
I was in a dark hallway. I was scared and alone; voices I couldn't identify whispered and echoed illegibly in the shadows around me . "Mommy!" I cried out. No response. "Daddy!" I called; again, no response. I whimpered as I trotted down the familiar yet unfamiliar hall. These lights were supposed to be on, weren't they? They were always on, while the lights in the living quarters could be switched on and off at our liesure. "...Mommy?"
On either side of me, Open doors went all down the hall into the darkness. Within each room was somepony's quarters...the lights were off; lit only by what little light could filter in from the dimmly lit hall. Shadows shifted and morphed in the dark rooms in ways that made them impossible to identify. I had no idea what they were, and so they terrified me. I was so afraid to go into any of the rooms that the moment I even looked directly into one of them, I whole body would feel like it went completely numb and I'd collapse. The Shadows would loom toward me and I would cry. Why couldn't I find anypony? Nopony I knew was anywhere to be seen... "..." A distorted voice boomed behind me.
I looked behind me to see a large shadow slowly advancing toward me. I screamed and scrambled back to my hooves and ran down the hall as fast as I could. Fears be damned, after passing a few doors, I took shelter inside one of the dark rooms. I whimpered until a small hoof touched my shoulder. I flinched at the contact before a soft harmonious voice danced in the darkness. "Are you okay?" it asked.
Slowly I turned as another filly emerged from the shadows and into view. A little blue unicorn with a dark navy blue mane and tail. Her vibrant green eyes were like lanterns in the dark room that seemed to light up as she spoke. I sniffled. "-sniff- I'm lost...I can't find my mom..." I whimpered.
The unicorn filly gave me a sympathetic look. "Aww, I'm sorry. My name is Stardust, wanna be friends? I'll help you find your mom." she offered with a cheer that I couldn't help but find contaigous.
I smiled with her, and suddenly the darkness didn't seem so frightening. That's when the large menacing shadow from before emerged in the doorway, and nothing but darkness lay behind it. I screamed as I hugged Stardust for comfort. "...Shhhhhhhh..." a familiar voice echoed from within the shadow.
That was Mom's voice. "M...Mommy?" The shadow reached up...and took off its head to reveal my mother's smiling face. "Mommy!" I cheered as this time I ran up to hug her foreleg, now encased in metal. "-sniff-...why were you being so scary?" I whined.
She merely smiled and leaned down to kiss my forehead. "This is Mommy's new uniform, Sweetie." she said softly.
I looked back at Stardust and smiled. "Mommy, I made a new friend!" I beamed.
Mom smiled brightly. "Good for you, Sweetie!" she cooed. "...Now, you need to wake up.". What? "Hurry, Swirl, you need to wake up or you'll be late for inspection!" she said with rising urgency as everything around us slowly blurred away.
"Swirl!"
"Wha! what?" I sprang up from my bed to see my roommate Stardust standing before me, already in her full uniform barding. We had grown up together as the closest of friends. She, it turned out, was Elder Mind Sight's daughter; and as such she had a lot of expectations piled on her to succeed him one day. I meanwhile would eventually be promoted to the rank of Knight, and years down the road, Paladin; Like my mother, years ago, before she died.
"You need to get ready!" she chided. "...if you hurry, you can get washed up before any Paladins show up." her encouraging smile giving me the energy I needed to hop out of bed and canter down the hall to the shower room.
