The Mane Attraction Review [Spoilers] · 11:20pm Nov 22nd, 2015

An episode with "mane" in the title, and no Mane-iac? Step up your game, Hasbro.

Stop trying to make me cry, damn it!

First off, I'd like to apologize for missing the Hooffields and McColts review- I honestly dropped the ball with that one.

This episode...was...amazing. I mean, the songs were good, and some backstory with AJ and Coloratura, not to mention some awesome world-building, what with finally hearing the Equestrian National Anthem (Equestria has a national anthem! Who knew?). I think the only thing I didn't like was Coloratura's manager, and that was mostly because he just seemed like the typical evil-manager trope. I thought he was bland as a character, was all. Maybe if he'd been connected with her family, and her parents maybe wanted him to help her be the best she could? I don't know. "The Magic Inside" song really got to me- I mean, they really just nailed that on the head. I kid you not, that I legitimately cried, and honestly? Between the wonderful animation, the song, and everything else, it's no surprise. The only nitpicks I'd probably have are Svengallop's character, as I stated before, and maybe one other. Now, this might just be me personally, but I absolutely hate the entire 'A' and 'B' are friends, 'B' becomes famous, mostly forgets 'A', and yadayadayada, you know the rest. I don't like it, it just gives me a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach. This instance, I can maybe forgive, because I felt that it was used at it's best in this episode. Another odd feeling, is that this episode reminds me of Amending Fences a bit- the situation with Twilight and Moondancer, specifically. I don't know why- these are almost two completely different situations(?) Maybe I'm crazy.
