Thoughts on not going the distance.

I've read Fluttershy Saves The World in 7 Days and I've got opinions.

First off, I very much enjoyed this story and the outlook on mental health issues, especially pertaining to anxiety (and others that come with it).

    Having said that...
    Twilight and Fluttershy are silly.

About "Leap of Faith" by A bag of plums

Okay, this is not really a review but more of a rant, sadly...

So, first of, I love Assassin's Creed and I think Plums has the potential to be a good author.

    That said...

    Her Knight in Faded Armor

Well, after I saw this story in the featured box again and again I decided to finally have a look at it.

By the way: This is not an actual review but more akin to a react and — oh what a surprise — there will be spoilers for the first three chapters.
    Everybody got that?!
    Good.
    Now...
    Here. We. Go.

    Ein Sof Zealotry

I decided to not do Mirror's Image. Why? Well, I already did it once before and didn't like what I wrote and I tried it again and it just got worse and that's when I decided I will only do a swift review of my new favorites.

Well, after I saw this story in the featured box again and again I decided to finally have a look at it.

By the way: This is not an actual review but more akin to a react and — oh what a surprise — there will be spoilers for the first three chapters.
Everybody got that?!
Good.
Now...
Here. We. Go.

Prologue

Hmm... I did read the description but am still considering this to be a flash forward with healthy probability.
And if there are guns automatic guns in this game, does that mean similar weapons are in use in the Equestrian military?
Anywho, I can see how playing such games can offer a benefit in a war scenario (mainly in the field of strategies). I mean even in the real world developers and players of certain games are looked for by the military.

Chapter 1

[...]If we consider how their new Communist ideology clashes with our own…[...]

...
Oh COME OOONNN!!!
Communists? Really?!

[...]“This is Dmitri Kvorof.”[...]

And they have Russian names?! Dammit, WHY?! And of course it had to be Dimitri because Ivan is so last century and how else would we know that he probably has a Russian accent. Oh, and speaking of last century: That's when this whole Cold War-thing got old really really fast. Even James Bond doesn't do that anymore.

Ugh. Okay, so that's a major annoyance. Let's hope this doesn't try to get philosophical or tries to create more parallels to the real world.

[...]Yvonne Talla[...]Jacques Chaput[...]

Oh... Well, then they are French, too. Makes sense considering that France and Russia are rather friendly with each other, historically speaking. And of course there were the French Revolutions.
...
Oh, goddammit. Another parallel...

[...]“I think he’ll be the most reasonable of the lot. I’m glad he’s leading the diplomats. We’ll have the best chance to negotiate peace with him.”[...]

Yeah, no. Based on what just has been told I'd say he is pretty steadfast in his opinions. Enough to not feel the need to push it in others faces because they are just ignorant and need to be properly educated. He'll probably use your own words against you.

[...]What made you turn away from us?[...]

Hmmm, I'd actually say that she turned away from herself and with you, Tia, and all that other stuff being a part of her...
But let's just read what she has to say.
*reads*...
Well, called it. And that's what I'd call a hefty depression maybe combined with some version of narcissistic personality disorder.

Far above the ground, up in the castle, there sat a single griffon. His perch was a comfortable chair situated next to a window. Beside him was a small table that held his record player and a chessboard that seemed to be in the middle of a game. He held a glass of a dark red liquid.

Well, that's not cliché at all. :ajsleepy:

Chapter 2

Okay, not much happened in this one. Though: Yeah, Button went to far, but Rumble kinda had it coming. And no, being drunk is not an excuse but rather makes it worse.

Well, this seems interesting and despite whole annoying communist-thing it had only one other noticeable flaw in the form of cliché villain tropes, though those can be enjoyable if handled right.

So, yeah, I'll keep reading and look where this is going. So far I'd say that this is not going to be great but very probably a nice and enjoyable read.

And that's that. See ya'll!
