After doing some thinking, I've decided that I'll reference the 'Cutie Map' episodes in a future story by saying that Rarity was called to Manehatten for help by Coco Pommel, taking Spike and Applejack with her, while Celestia asked for volunteers for a diplomatic mission to Griffonstone that Rainbow Dash jumped on, Pinkie Pie joining her, and at the same time, Fluttershy was going on a wilderness expedition, and with her marefriend unable to come, Twilight goes in her place.
I'm still ignoring the Starlight Glimmer episodes though.
