We Need An Episode Like Lullaby For A Princess · 12:24am Nov 13th, 2015
Thinking about that animation and song made me realized just how great it would be if we had an episode that touched upon how Celestia felt when she had to banish her own sister to the moon. In case any of you that might be reading this has not seen Lullaby For A Princess (as unlikely as that is) you need to see it. You don't have to be caught up on the show or anything to understand it, so there are few reasons not to. I think it would be amazing if the show showed how Celestia dealt with banishing her own sister to the moon. Maybe have short clips of interaction between the two after Luna's return? Or maybe have something similar to Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep, showing Celestia trying to make it up to her sister for what she had to do? Maybe show what happened right after Nightmare Moon's banishment, or any other time in the thousand years afterwards. It would be great character development for Celestia (something that we seem to lack in this show), and could also give us some more information about the history if it shows what happened before Nightmare Moon's return. Celestia seems to be depicted as a wise and knowing ruler, but also has a few of her own faults as well; it's just that she's gotten good at hiding them over the thousands of years she's been alive. It would be interesting to see her without all of that experience, and maybe how the two sisters interacted right before the whole Nightmare Moon fiasco. Celestia is a character that is on the border between unbelievable and believable, showing few signs of faults, but as I previously stated, she's gotten good at hiding them, so the few signs of faults she has shown are quite meaningful. I would like to see Celestia with her guard down, not having to act like a ruler and a role model, and just relax and be herself. That's why it was kind of great when that happened in Slice of Life. I'm starting to ramble, aren't I? It's getting kind of late to be ranting about ponies. Maybe I'll come back and edit this tomorrow. I kinda doubt anyone will see it before I do anyway. If you do, then congrats. You get an imaginary cookie.
Until next time,
