    Same Title Dilemma

So a recent story has made it to the top featured ticker, and it has the same title as my story, Role Reversal.

    ...Dammit.

    So Yeah, Here's the Scoop...

    So yeah, here's the scoop...

I've been feeling some inspiration come back. With that said, let me announce that new chapters will be coming very soon! I am currently working on trying to make my very first short film, so that might prevent me from updating all the time, but nevertheless, I shall return with some new chapters!

Only two questions present themselves to me:

    Hiatus

Everything of mine is on an indefinate hiatus.

I'm sorry, everypony. I just haven't felt any motivation or inspiration lately. I've also have been battling depression and suicidal tendencies. My stories aren't that great, anyway, you can read other stuff that is 10 billion times better than my very best work.

Please be patient, I truly am sincerely sorry. I feel awful.

    Suicide

The title of this blog post is a thing that I have been contemplating for a long while now, but I am finally seeking help for it and checking myself into a hospital.

As a result, I won't be updating for a while. I'll be writing like crazy when I'm in in-patient; hopefully I'll have updates when I return.

    That is all.

You And I Should Get Away For Awhile

Disregard the title, because it has nothing to do with the topic of this post, lmao.

Do ponies not like my stories? My newest creation Charmingly Rustic has a high enough rating from the said amount of ponies needed to be featured at the top; but of course, nopony is reading it. Nopony gives a flying f— about my stories, apparently.

As much as I want ponies to read my stories, I don't want to FORCE them to; I feel...Not sure how to describe it, but I don't feel good when I promote my stories (like in chat rooms or Facebook, etc). I want ponies to be WILLING to read it without me having to shove it in their faces first.

Perhaps I'm just being a whiny attention whore, but that doesn't change how I feel. This sucks.

What's going on man? The problem may be that you're pushing yourself to some very different audiences with each different story. My advice? To be honest you should stick with just one story. I know your just chuck full of ideas, but when you regulary update just one story, you'll attract more readers. That's my two cents. :pinkiehappy:

TLC

I feel your pain. :fluttercry:

Hey man, i know how you feel. it sucks. But you should be writing for yourself, not for views or for anyone else. Writing should be a fun experience.
As for me, i absolutely love all of your work. You just need to follow through with them is all. You'll get your views eventually, I promise.

If you really want to get your name out there, Foxey, my podcast could probably find an opening for you to be a guest on our show. We would be glad to have you on, and you could promote your fics...

That's all I can really offer you. i feel bad for you, since I do feel you deserve more readers.

I love your story (so far  ) Charmingly Rustic. It has a real potential of getting viewers and readers. Now, just because it has a potential, doesn't mean it will get readers (oh I do hope so! :fluttercry: ) will get many readers. Just because one's story are marvously written, does not mean people read it. It is a shipping fix, after all, and someponies don't like shipping fics. I haven't read your other stories, as I only started reading Charmingly Rustic a few days ago, but I look forward to it. Keep Calm and Brony On! :rainbowdetermined2:

I'm so full of ideas it's crazy!! I'm currently writing five MLP:FiM fics (one isn't posted on here), an Adventure Time fanfic, and recently got two new ideas for two other MLP:FiM stories. I can barely keep up! :derpyderp2: I know I should just stick to one, but my neurotic and paranoid nature gets me thinking that because I thought of it, then that means there's a good chance somepony will post a story like it before I do (I know it doesn't make a lot of sense).

6050 It sucks, doesn't it. :fluttercry:

6057 Thank you for saying I deserve more readers; that means a lot to me. And I do write for myself; but the thing is, I want others to read it, too, and see how they feel about it. The podcast idea would be GREAT actually! I would love to go on and not only promote my stories, but just chit-chat and whatnot. It is a specifically MLP:FiM themed podcast right or am I wrong?

6072 That's the one thing about shipping is that there's really no gray area; either ponies love shipfics or they hate them.

I hesitate to suggest it, but have you considered submitting your work to the view-generating juggernaught that is Equestria Daily? Their pre-readers can be tough but if they post the story it can be a great boon for exposure.

6224 I've tried with two of my stories, and they declined both. Besides, the criticism I received from the pre-readers was rather depressing...

This is the same thing that has frustrated me to no end, with both my art and my stories, for years. I work really hard and put my heart and soul into my projects and I'll get almost no reaction whatsoever. A lot of my novels I've been writing, I'll ask all my friends to give it a read and to give me feedback. They'll all tell me they'll read it and tell me what they think, but whenever I bring it up after they supposedly read it, they avoid the topic completely. Some tell me that they haven't read it yet but they're "totally going to read it tomorrow! I promise I'll tell you what I think of it," and then they never mention it again.

Once I joined FiMFiction, I was overjoyed that when I posted my first story, I was actually getting page views, but not much else. I did get a couple folks who were kind enough to give me feedback. But other than that, I have no clue if I'm doing things right or wrong for my audience.

It is really frustrating that one of my close friends can't understand why it's important to me that I know that my projects are getting the love and attention I feel they should get. I know I should do my writing and art for myself because I love it so much, but getting real feedback is what fuels my creative muse. A well fed muse means I crank out more art and writing, and in turn hopefully generates more traffic and comments on my various projects.

It gets really discouraging and I admit I get jealous when I see stuff posted that is so halfhearted or is just downright garbage, and they have mountains of views/favs/watchers/stars and comments out the yin-yang; people calling them the gods of writing/art and demand more. Yet their story can be neigh illegible and fail to pass the most basic rules of the English language. I have to wonder what is so wrong with my work that I can't even compete with what I'd consider a literary abomination. But then I have to ask myself if I really want those folks rating and commenting on my work, who have such poor tastes in quality by my standards. (I'd probably get a ton of "TL; DR" posts, LOL).

I'm thankful that I have as many readers as I do, even if all but one or two of them are silent. Either they don't have the time to write a critique or simply just don't know what to say. I know I'd rather be focusing more on finishing my own projects instead of giving thorough feedback on all the stories I come across.

Basically all we can do is keep trying to get better at writing; keep cranking out chapters and stories (and hopefully one day finish one of them *crosses fingers!* :twilightblush: ) ; and really appreciate the readers and comments we do have and hope that one day we can find a way to really snag that sweet spot that gets a broader audience hooked.
