So recently I've been reading alot of stuff and my estimated words read as shot up from 900,000 to 1,600,000 in a few days. A fair few of those stories involved "Derpy" except she was called Ditzy Doo with derpy's appearance and personality. I realized that she is much more awesome and cuter like this, therefore in my fics from now on, she will be called Ditzy Doo.

Actually, the show originally called her Ditzy Doo, but the fans still call her Derpy, as they called her that in one of the Season Two episodes. So I think Derpy is better for Fanfics. But, go with what you feel better with, I guess.

280599 Yeh, I know what you mean, but just reading the stories where she is called Ditzy Doo, they are so much better. The character is just easier to use when she has a sweet and innocent name, like "Ditzy", but when she is called Derpy, it a lot harder to connect and not see her as just a joke.

Okay. I am more used to Derpy, as I joined the fanbase recently, after looking at the loads of Derpy memes on Memebase.. In fact, I think Ditzy is slightly insulting. Derpy just means she is clumsy, but Ditzy literally means 'Scatterbrained'. I think Derpy is cuter as well.

280609 I think it largley depends on the situation. Derpy is good for comedy's and fics about her eye condition, however Ditzy seems to fit a mother with a foal called Dinky, and other daily life, and long winded stories, better

280615 Good point. When I write the Derpy/Ditzy Second Person fic I have been thinking about, I'll be calling her Derpy, as in the one. It'll be a slightly sad one, I think. Not sure... But you have a point about the name choices .
