While I'm working on getting everything set to write this fanfic, I wanted to make a book cover for it. I wanted a title and image that would both catch interest of someone browsing through. Originally, I was wanting to use "Torture" as the title, but that would only work if the story started out with Solar Flare. This is not going to be the case. She has to be seen as a villain, the antagonist. So I had to think of another title. That is when this title hit me. Sure, it's a play on words, but it's an iconic phrase. People know who and what "The Mare in the Moon" refers to. So if I made it into an AU, then it would be the mare in the sun. That should set the minds of readers into the right scope. With the cover art, it had to foreshadow what the reader will be experiencing. That is where I got the idea of using Solar Flare's cutie mark. That way, the title/art combination set the tone with what this story will be all about.
