I've read through several reviews on FimFiction and I have to say... WOW writers are ripping this episode a new one. All I have to say is watch Dr. Wolf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LvPKuwJeY-U , he explains things a puts them into better perspective then most.
For my take on this episode I have to say I like it. The redemption of Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, realizing that DT's mother is the cause of DT's attitude and finally the CMC getting their Cutie Marks. Some complained that this episode contradicts everything that the show was saying about Cutie Marks but was it... I think the fan base interpreted what a Cutie Mark was and how ponies get them.
As for the Cutie Marks, I think there nice looking. It shows that they are a team and that together they can complete any task they put their minds to. Yet, they also show that they're different as well. Each one is still unique and that they can still go off and still do their own thing (Sweetie Bell singing, Scoots racing and Bloom building) if they decide to do so... as for the complaints that each ponies mark is unique... uh sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks so but... Time Turner and Minuette have the same marks and we've seen, or I've at least seen, several background ponies with the same mark. Its how a person, or pony in this case, interprets the mark. What makes their mark special to them and how they explain that mark to others.
Overall a very good episode and I can't stop smiling that the CMC finally have their Cutie Marks.
