As a fan of DBZ, I can honestly say that the beam struggle at the end totally sealed this movie for me. I also thought it was interesting how this movie sort of reverse-mirrored the first movie. In the first, Princess Twilight comes from a place where everyone gets along as friends into this toxic environment where everyone is at each-others' throats. Even just walking into CHS is different. PonyTwi walks in and everyone ignores her, practically getting run over (which reminds me a lot of my high school days.) In this movie, humanTwi walks in and everybody is warm and friendly "Hi Twilight! How are you? What's up?"
Still, my favorite part was Rainbow kicking ass when the magical plants attacked. Overall, I didn't like this one as much as Rainbow Rocks, though mostly just for the songs. Sidenote, love Sugarcoat, hate Soursweet, though I figure that's normal.
