Sorry to ask people, but if you've got the time and if anyone bothers to read these, could I get a brief opinion on one thing.
Been planning to get back into writing stories for the website, just a couple more funny one shot tales and a rather lengthy one. The more pressing of them involves the use of Rainbow Dash, albeit briefly, and fitting it around an event the series introduced. It's only a small bit but I wanted to ask better writers, well, if this is a good idea?
I wouldn't want to break any website taboos or issues of any sort after all.

While I wouldn't consider myself a "Good" writer, I think that if you have an idea, you need to run with it! Sure, some people are purists and don't want ideas like that to mix, but if you think it'll work, then what the hell do they know! I say go for it, and do your best to write it how you want to see it!
3411489 Well, if that's the way you stand on it, then thank you :) Will certainly make a stab at things and if worst comes to worst and the story gets pelted with hate mail, just won't try involving them again, heh.
I'm not popular and I don't really know if I'm THAT good but, I do have an opinion, for whatever it's worth. On this site you can pretty much find any sort of story you may want to see or may not want to see that uses My Little Pony characters and settings. However, other than that they vary widely. If you want to read something that is more canonical with the television show, it's here. If you want to read something that pulls from the show and the comics a little bit that's here too.
If you want some sort of story where Pinkie Pie is actually a cthulu type beast it's probably here. If you want to see Jason Voorhees as an anthropomorphic wolf get summoned to Equestria by King Sombra and Queen Chrysalis it's here. Everything from the G rated of G rated to something that you wouldn't want your parents to see is here.
I guess that's my long winded way of saying there really aren't any hard fast rules to this stuff other than those they've posted which largely deal with how to tag stories, story length, not stealing etc. After that it's up to the creator. So, write what you want to write and see what happens. Have fun with it! As long as you can walk away from your story saying, "Yeah I'm fairly happy with that one," regardless of what other say, it's all good!
