i just sent a message to knighty, Xaquseg and the mod page asking about why not make another website for none MLP related stuff this is how it went.
so i have a question, why don't you guys start another website like fimfiction but for none MLP related fanfiction?
the reason that i ask this is because i was recently trying to use Fanfiction.net to upload a none MLP related fan fiction and noticed that it was extremely outdated and difficult to navigate, often having to navigate thru several different and (in my opinion) unrelated menus. it also has ridiculous rules,(like if a story that you where writing on the web site has not been submitted within 90 days, it will automatically be deleted), has next to no features (in my opinion, or just doesn't have the features that i use the most, and if it does i cant find them), and its even difficult to find out who liked, Favorited, or commented on your story. even uploading a profile picture is frustrating. years earlier i had tried to use this website and i gave up, in the end i had to ask my younger brother to help me out.
as for the other websites that i have found, a lot of them have similar issues then fanfiction has, mainly the old and outdated UI( thankfully not as bad), or lack of good content. wattpad has a better user interface with some better features, but i didn't find this out until i singed up because it didn't even let me read a full story without doing it, which, again, frustrated me!
...to say that i'm disappointing with the options out there is an understatement.
but you guys, i think that you guys have one of the best fan fiction sites out there, and wish that you guys would expand to other fandoms. there is no doubt in my mind that if you guys where to start another website, many users would flock to it.
so why not create another website for the other fandom with the same user interface? i know its not as easy as it sounds, but I'm just wondering.
what did you think? would you guys be interested in something like this? or is there another website that is better than fimfiction?
