This is what annoys me... · 9:19pm Sep 11th, 2015
You can call me a arsehole or a cold hearted man, but I personally feel that dedicating a moment of silence to those who died when the planes hit the twin towers would be... Well, blind of me, and ignorant towards many other people who die every year from diseases, starvation and other means of death. I'm not the sort of person who'd throw a lecture at a audience about how there are many more people dying out there ever so slowly to their inevitable deaths, but I feel that the victims of 9/11 don't deserve all this attention and sympathy while hundreds more die worse, more painful deaths. And the fact that many of us think that it's worth our time to give up a minute of our year to-
You get my point. It just seems that we have forgotten about those who are suffering worse, and it seems that only the big and shocking tragic events get society's remorse, like a school shooting, a hundred or so children dying, like the many thousand more children dying in a war zone or living on weeds and dust. It pisses me off, but that's just my opinion that I wanna get off my chest.
Mmmhmm, I can see where you you're coming from.
Ultimately, no matter how big an event is, on 9/11, we mourn the losses of everybody, from the people whose lives were claimed by 9/11/01 to many other people who die every year from diseases, starvation and other means of death. We have to mourn many deaths, both the ones that make huge headlines and the ones that don't.
And, well, I'd like to say that the 9/11 victims get all this attention and sympathy for a reason: Some of them have suffered the same fate as many other people who die every year from diseases, starvation and other means of death.
