[Discussion] Difference betwen Clop and Clop. · 10:13pm Aug 3rd, 2012
Hiya there partner!
So, a thought struck me.
Why do poeple instantly categorize a story as a ''Clop'' as soon as they see that it has the ''Sex'' or ''Romance'' tag?
Isn't there a diffrence betwen a Novel and Porn?
Yes, the similarities are many, but so are the differences.
Everyone is allowed to have an oppinion, 'tis' just mine.
To me, a ''Clop'' is where there is little story or emotion as to why they even are doing whatever they do.
Also. I think a story gets the ''Clop'' stamp quite fast as soon as I see a trace of fetishes or sex toys at all for that matter. Provided there are precious little of it or so well used that it is forgiveable.
Let's put up some examples;
I ain't gonna lie, I've read a few Sex stories, some cloppier than the others.
Point is, I think that there actually is a difference betwen a ''Clop'' story and a ''Clop''-ish story. (Click the links at your own risk.)
A story I think is more a Romance story than a ''Clop'' are a few. But those that has stuck to my mind for various reasons are stories like;
An Apple for a Diamond
A Dash of Apple
Then, of course there are stories that are downright pornographic that as well has stuck to my brain like flies on flypaper.
A Great and Painfull Lesson
Daring Do and the Mysterious Goo
BUT! Amids all the clop and romance, there are a few that has managed to balance both of those things so that, whatever you prefer, YOU WILL enjoy these stories.
Fluttershy's Tree
Bibliophile
Onto the topic of discussion;
Do YOU think there is a difference betwen a ''Clop'' and a ''Clop''?
Is there no ''Romance'' just cold hard porn, no matter what anyone says?
Or is it promptly too savage to call a story ''Clop'', it is strictly called a ''Romance'', or the very least ''A romantic story taken to the extremes''
Feel free to spam loose and DISCUSS!
A most interesting point, my friend.
I agree with you almost completely, although, having gained knowledge, quite deeply, of romance stuff (Because Pony-mance is usually funny, well-written and generally good, but real people romance? I think not.)
Anyway, I've read a few Clop-ish things (Mentions and hints) Like 'Beating the Heat'.
Well used cloppishness made that hilarious.
I've also recently been reading 'Romance Reports' Which is Fairly Cloppy, but doesn't get too weighed down with it so it's okay really.
All in all, Clop and Clop are different, one burns you're mind, one is good for reading. (I'll leave that up to you to decide which)
