I need to stop making decisions while very tired.
I'm considering trying to juggle two large fics at the same time, because both of them keep competing for space in my head. This is probably a bad idea, but my sleep deprived brain thinks it's the most awesome thing ever.
Can I do it? I don't know. One thing I do know is that either Timelines (working title), Dawn (working title), or both should have a first chapter up within two weeks, if I can stop procrastinating.
Dawn really has me excited. It's a story I want to see told, about Celestia and Luna and their first conflict with Discord. A prequel of sorts to the show.
Timelines, however, keeps grabbing my interest. Villains who can see the future? Trying to plan around an enemy that knows what you might try before you can even think of it? And I've just come up with a really interesting framing device that brought my attention back to this story.
I'll probably work on Dawn, for one very important reason. Dawn feels more like a pony story. Timelines is interesting, and has some neat twists and fun plotlines to follow, but it would work just a well as original fiction (and may end up as such later on down the road). Dawn is something that I think works best as a pony fic, and not just because it's about an event in Equestrian history. The thematic elements and the way the characters relate to each other in my head just say "ponies" to me, in some way I can't fully describe.
Also, I promise I haven't forgotten that Stormy Skies still needs an epilogue written. I've just forgotten how to be motivated.
