I guess I'll have to write something here, just to let you know me better.

I'm a stay-cable engineer (bridges, pretensioned concrete structures, etc), working and living in northern capital of Russia, Saint-Petersburg.

It's quite a lovely city in summer, but it's hell at winter. If you will visit it in winter - you'll surely understand how Dostoevsky, who lived here, came up with idea of "Crime and punishment" - he simply lived in that hell. It got even more hellish after 900-days siege of Leningrad, the second bloodiest battle in the history of mankind after Battle of Stalingrad. More than a million died during the battle, so almost every square meter of the city is covered in blood. No wonder people who live here are a bit careless about everything and are not impressed by almost any act of savagery of war.

On a bright side - for 4-5 months of summer - it's a place to die for. Cheap alcohol, old imperial architecture, great museums, white nights and sometimes even good weather. Quite inspirational.

As for me - my family lives in that region for centuries, starting at Old Ladoga, then Novgorod the Great, then Rjev, than (when Saint-P was founded in 1703) - Saint-Petersburg. So I'm quite a local guy. Most of my ancestors were military or engineers (with small addition of doctors in recent times).

My alma-mater is Saint-Petersburg State University, Philological faculty, which I've finished in 2009 (bachelor degree) and in 2011 (Master of arts degree). You may ask how I ended up as an engineer with such education? Well, it's a long story, but that technical documentation don't translate itself, and Middle Asian workers have troubles with European managers. So, I'm like a small screw in a big machine of infrastructure construction industry.

Also, I draw ponies.

Feel free to ask questions and check my DA (lots of pones and other stuff there)
