I don't see how it is different than any other patreon where the person running it is providing an entertainment product. music, video production, art, game design - They all output things that people will then consume for entertainment, the creator spent a lot of time creating those things, and quite often the ones consuming the products will only spend a few minutes. Watch a 4 minute video, listen to a 3 minute song, read a chapter of a story for 5-10 minutes, look at a picture sometimes for literally 10 seconds depending on the degree to which the person looking at it wants to analyze the work of the artist. The same can be said about someone analyzing music or written word or video effects and techniques.

In any case, there's no real difference other than the medium, and also you are not gay and a faggot. Unless you are, in which case, there's nothing wrong with that, everyone has their preferences.
