Vinyl's Backstory · 11:39am Jul 18th, 2015
As previous stated in Bass and Double Bass; Vinyl had a rough childhood, she came from a reasonable wealthy family in Canterlot although her father wanted nothing to with her and her mother tried to force her to follow in her footsteps. Her parents ignored her disability and after they found out she was trying to pursue a career that would further embarrass them and their reputation Vinyl was eventually kicked out at age 15, pretty much left to just wander the streets. The only thing that they gave her was a brown satchel full of food and enough money to last just under a month.
After a month and half of begging and scrounging for a living she wound up in a back alley in the Warehouse District. The food rationed from the satchel was gone, and the money as well, however Vinyl refused to part with the satchel. She spent 3 nights alone and afraid that she would die there, on the fourth day the warehouse (whose alley she was in) was being scouted as the next venue for the Underground Music raves.
It was being scouted by Heavy Note, he found Vinyl behind the warehouse, starved and near death. He couldn't leave her, he took her in and later introduced her to his friend Passion Stripe, together Heavy and Passion managed to help Vinyl retrieve some of herself that had lost and after a while they discovered that she was talented in music especially behind DJ decks. Awhile later Vinyl was able to expand her confidence and social circle to increase her love of music and performing to become the one of the best DJ's in Canterlot.
But through it all Vinyl will never forget where she started and how much it means for someone to receive a helping hand. She used the money she had earned from playing to buy a small apartment to help other struggling music artists and then later with help from Heavy Note was able to purchase a space for a music studio. In those three years from being kicked out by her parents to our story; Vinyl went from a scared child afraid that her next day would be her last, to being the most respected and kind 'voices' in her scene always being the one to offer help or just a eye to the problems of others.
Vinyl owes her life to Heavy and Passion (although they would state otherwise), if it wasn't for them she would have died in that back alley. Heavy Note and Passion Stripe are more then just friends, to Vinyl they are family, the first real family she has in her life.
I've left a couple of hints (some subtle, some ....not so subtle) in previous chapters all leading up to the next upload where one character will hopefully get the shock of their life.
Ohh, by the way (one last hint); Vinyl Scratch has the same initials as her mother.
Oh, I get it.
