Personally I think it would have been funnier if he had summoned a giant Smarty Pants, jumped on its back and yelled CHAAAAAAARGE! Plus, I wish Rarity had reacted to Spikes transformation in some way.
Also, all I could think when Angel changed into a monster was, "so back to normal then."
