As you may have noticed, Militant Equestria has been put on hiatus. Why is this, you might ask? There are two specific reasons.
The first (and less important) reason is that I don't feel readers are enjoying the story. I think they believe that the story overestimates Equestria's chances, and essentially "nerfs" the USA. Both are very likely true. I am not a military expert, nor do I have a high understanding of modern weapons. Therefore, I think that it is best for the time being that I leave this story and do not go back to it for some time. I feel that the readers do not believe that I have the capacity or understanding to write this story, which, I think, is a very justified thought.
The second (and more important) reason is that I am trying to break back into my own novel, with my own characters. Writing with someone else's characters is easy, but my own have been sadly neglected, and are not living in my mind as they should. It is for this reason that I am turning away from the enormous project of Militant Equestria. Allowing other people's dislike of my story would be a poor excuse for letting it go, as I am. I have not cancelled it, nor have I deleted it; I intend to come back to it at some point. If I do, I may write it differently than I have. For the time being, it will remain as it is.
Please do not mistake this as inability to take criticism well; I happen to think that all criticism my story has gotten is justified, and I think that people see potential in it, as they continue to return to it.
I am not putting my collection of short stories on hiatus, because that is a welcome escape from my own book, for when I need it. Militant Equestria has taken up far too much time as it is, and should be left on the shelf for some time while I gather myself.
Distinct apologies for the overlong post. I also want to give a very deep and heartfelt apology to those who were greatly enjoying Militant Equestria, and wanted to see it continued quickly. I thank you for your support, and I ask you to watch for more fanfiction from myself. I find it welcoming, and I love the supportive community here at FIMFiction. Any writing help from absolutely anyone is appreciated.
Thank you.
