Yaks versus Ponies: The Dreaded War · 9:08pm Jul 2nd, 2015
So I just read this comic here. And now I find myself thinking about what it would be like if the Yaks really did wage war on Equestria. Sure the alicorn princesses are powerful and scary, but these yaks survived a harshness that most ponies don't even realize exist. I'm also willing to bet that these yaks fight somewhat like vikings, have giant monsters, and their entire plan is to ruin your day.
The battles would be terrifying and brilliant, with yak battle ragers coming in, and slaughtering all in their paths. The unicorns would attempt to stem the tide of yak beserkers but for every yak they put down two more take its place and get closer. the borders would be overrun quickly, while the inland built up its defenses. The yaks have not just anger and rage, they have patience, and so they would build up their forces before assaulting the inland and circling around Canterlot with their beasts of burden, aka giant monsters. Eventually they'd be at Celestia's front gates, calling for blood. Out of the soldiers of Equestria, most were slaughtered in the initial fighting, what is left is a legion of battle hardened soldiers. Their dead families driving them to defend the last bastion of their homeland.
The yaks charge, and they destroy the gates. The guards at the front line defend it for as long as they can, proving to be a difficult challenge to the yaks, but soon even they are overpowered. The yaks make their way inward destroying everything in sight, but the citizens have all been evacuated through the mines underneath the city. When they reach the castle they meet up with little resistance and find themselves the new owners of an empty city. This strikes them as a little odd, but the pansy pony princesses probably ran away like girls. That't when Celestia initiates her plan of attack.
With the power of four alicorns, the group has the city of Canterlot empty of all ponies, the only creatures inside right now are the yaks. They bring down the wrath of the sun and a beam of energy vaporizes the city in an instant. Most of the buildings were left intact, but all life, plant, animal, monster, and yak have been turned into charcoal. Her enemies defeated on her terms, but the cost was great.
With Canterlot now abandoned, Celestia is forced to move whats left of her kingdom southwards into the dangerous and untamed jungles of the south. Although she will be able to rebuild there, the process will be grueling and even more life will be lost before she can carve out a new place to call home.
And to think; all of this was inspired by a single silly comic. XD
