On Mary Sue and being fed up. · 4:34am Jun 20th, 2015
Okay.
So I was reading this story here on FiMFiction that shall go unnamed.
It was human-in-Equestria, and the first 35-ish chapters were actually pretty good.
Then it jumped the shark.
It was pushing having a Mary Sue (just google it) as a main character from the beginning, as are all HiE's.
Then it made the main character a freaking alicorn hybrid.
I'm done. No more. 45 chapters in and I'm giving up.
"You gotta look inside yourself and say, 'What am I willing to put up with today?' Not fcking this!"
I'm going to go take some of that warm, sandy road and throw it at the author. For the love of mustard, ask yourself if your main character is, in fact, a Mary Sue.
Was it The Monster of Canterlot? That one definitely sounds like it fits the description, especially the chapter number where the guy becomes a hybrid.
*shrug* I still like it.
From how it sounds, it doesn't so much jump the shark as much as it cold cocks it.

3165045 It may or may not be absolutely that story. I may or may not have read 45 chapters of it and will read no more. I may or may not have read that on a slow-as-molasses phone while waiting in line at the DMV for almost three hours.
I may or may not be very very salty.
