I've been weebling back and forth all day on whether I should try to write another short fic to build up a body of work, or put more time and effort into the longer story I've been working on instead. Maybe I'll flip a bit and decide that way!

I thought this blog was going to be about something completely different.
243856 I can't imagine what you could have thought. Tsk, somepony has their mind in the gutter.
OK that does it! I'm just adding somepony, everypony and anypony to my damned browser spell-check dictionary!

It really does help.
As for your question. Do both. When you come up with a nice short one-shot write it.
If you focus too much on the long story you won't be as creative with it. Taking a break with a nice little one-shot can help get your creative juices flowing.
EDIT: Also, shorter stories will get more views. Ponies are more likely to read a shorter story because it requires a smaller time investment.
