Discord and HIE

Does anypony else hate using Discord as a villain in HiE stories? Hes far too overused and unless you can think of a really good plot, he ends up very 1 dimensional and only exists as a means to an end.

Although, it is incredibly tempting to use him as a reason that my characters appeared in Equestria, I cant ever bring myself to do it. I much prefer him to be a necessary evil or a character who loves chaos but also has morals and beliefs. He should also have certain experiences that help define him. As a god of chaos, being 1 dimensional is absolutely horrendous. And just being evil is far too perdictable and monotonous for someone such as Discord to enjoy.
