What does it all mean!?!? · 3:51pm Apr 30th, 2015
So... I don't understand the friendzone. From this point in the blog inward, keep in mind I know nothing, and am not making a point (I think).
Before now (And now, I guess) I thought of the friendzone as when you ask a friend out and they say they "just want to be friends" (and mean it, I guess). But, if that's it, like I suspect, than why all of the woman's rights stuff going on around it?
Am I getting the friendzone wrong? Are they getting the friendzone wrong? Can someone explain this to me?
okay friendzoning is where you like them and they like you but they want to keep being friends bc they don't want wreak your friendship that you have with them
The way I always understood it - which is not necessarily right by any means - was that being 'friendzoned' was when you like someone and they, unknowingly, say something that makes it clear they see you as nothing but a friend.
e.g.:
"Wow, you're so easy to talk to. That's why you're one of my best friends."
or
"You're just like one of the (guys/girls)!"
or
"I don't think there's anyone out there for me. I wish I could find a (guy/girl) like you that I could date!"

3030873 I think I see what you guys are getting at...
But I also don't see where the woman's rights stuff comes in...
3030884 ya that is what im saying but couldn't think of how to say it
3030884 I'm not wholly familiar with what women's rights issue you're referring to, but as a woman myself, all I can say is... what?
I also try to avoid getting involved in the women's rights debates, mostly because it tends to be a very trigger-happy subject for some women.
